Purple Bhut Jolokia 20 Seeds by Pepper Gardeners

This is all they sent me in response (which would probably be better in the product description:)“Soak seeds in a little water overnight before sowing. Seeds for ghost peppers take around 35 days to germinate in very warm soil between 80-90 F. (27-32 C.), and the soil must be kept moist consistently. Soak the seeds in hydrogen peroxide for a minute to increase germination success, and use full sun fluorescent light bulbs to maintain temperature and humidity.”Good thing I’m experienced, I nailed it, I started seeds from several sources and everything else germinated except these.

These are the only seeds i bought that were real. The peppers have good flavor and heat. And the plants are beautiful and sturdy. Even the unripend ones that are still purple are delicious and have a good color palet.

Germinated successfully. I have healthy plants growing. I won't know for months if they're the right pepper, but the leaf shape and plant structure are correct so far. I'll update if anything is amiss when they produce.e: The pods don't have the shape of a bhut jolokia. These are likely a habanero cultivar of some kind.

No germination at all using proper heat humidity and soil! Do not buy and waste your time!

Seeds germinated in early February, almost every seed sprouted within a month. Transplanted two of the healthiest plants to pots in late April. Plants grew tall and strong. Began fruiting in late June, to my surprise the peppers were purple on arrival. I let them grow and ripen for close to a month as I wasn't sure when they would be ready to pick. Harvested about a dozen in early July, all were half purple, half light green. In mid August the fruit at the bottom of the plants began to turn bright red, all fruit at the top is still half purple. All that aside, they are happy and healthy Ghost Pepper plants, spicy as advertised.

The seeds came in two days early and the package had more seeds than advertised. All of the seeds I planted germinated within a very reasonable time frame. They are not old enough to produce fruit yet, and I will write a review when I have tasted the fruit.

I germinate my own seed every year. I’m pretty good at it. Not one of these seeds germinated.

I'm only giving a four because I have only just started them. So far they are awesome!!! They sent me a few more than the twenty listed. I germinated them February 10 and as of today I have 33 seedlings. All are very healthy looking. I have followed the directions enclosed and kept the soil as directed which is atleast 70 degrees. I will buy from this seller again without hesitation!
