Upgrade your egg
I grew up in the Philadelphia area and we always had a big chocolate cream filled egg in our Easter baskets. Thanks to loving bunnies. I’ve moved away and the large eggs are not available in my area. I’m So Happy to find this deluxe rich creamy version in raspberry flavor. I ordered a couple of different brands and this one did not disappoint. This one was placed in an 80 year old bunnies own basket. She loved it and thankfully shared!

Looking forward to Easter again
Excellent is too short for a review but it is the first word that comes to mind. I had come to believe that nothing was made with old fashioned pride in workmanship, but I am happy to say that I was wrong. My little German grandmother was born in the early 1900's and so was taught to be an excellent cook and homemaker. I mention this because she made the most wonderful candies for special occasions including Easter, and this was the most wonderful candy I've had since Easter 1972. I thought the price was a bit high until I tasted the delightful Fruit & Nut Easter Egg, it's actually a bargain.

TERRIBLE QUALITY
The chocolate turned white only hours after being delivered. I researched it and this is "normal" and still ok to eat. However, the inside of this fruit and nut egg had the consistency of bubble gum and ABSOLUTELY no taste. To say that I am disappointed, is an UNDERSTATEMENT! I am glad I didn't order as a gift for someone. How embarrassing!

Heavenly treat.
This is the best thing I ever ate. Seriously off the charts heavenly. I bought 3 different ones and the other 2 (Coconut and chocolate fudge) are delicious and beyond sweet. I've never tried the dark chocolate so I ordered milk chocolate on all. The maple nut is beyond delivious. It's hard to tell in the pics what the nuts are. It looks like peanuts but I think every nut I know and love was mixed in this filling. The inside was a little chewy, little more like a nougat, with a subtle taste of maple. I will never hesitate to buy this one again. Yes it's expensive but worth every penny.

Delicious chocolate, hot weather beware
Unfortunately when this arrived, it had melted - possibly due to the temperature in the delivery van?I froze it immediately, to stop the melting - and then sliced off a piece. Since it’s milk chocolate, it was very sweet and creamy - it tasted very fresh, not waxy.A little bit goes a long way, unless you are a person with a fiendish sweet tooth.

DELICIOUS! -One Word Sums it up
My first experience, which was probably due to a torn box that allowed air to dry out the coconut, prompted a very unfavorable review. I discarded the candy, and wrote that the the coconut was dry, and tasteless. It was impossible to slice. It just crumbled. I wrote, "Coconut should be moist. Philadelphia Candies has an excellent reputation. This is just OLD candy, even the box is old and faded." "Gee, I hate seeing my hard earned money gone in the garbage. It's too bad that food items are non-returnable, but Amazon will usually make it right. I think this is last year's model, sporting a new bar code that isn't even recognized by my Amazon scan app. Hmm." (The torn box should have given me a clue that it had been exposed to air) but, I felt bitter and cheated, and as far as I was concerned that was the end of it. UNTIL . . .The Philadelphia Candies rep had other ideas, so that evening I wrote---"Update: Out of all fairness, I feel compelled to inform you that:Before this comment could even post, I received a phone call from a representative of Philadelphia Candy. It was rather late in the evening, and at first, I thought it was a joke. Come on now, who could care whether I liked my easter egg-especially days after Easter when there was no money to be made. But who else would know about it! Bottom line is, he was very concerned about customer satisfaction, and the reputation of the company. He explained that the eggs are always made fresh, and are shipped within hours after they are made. With so many factors involved any one thing can unknowingly go wrong, to alter an excellent egg. I do remember the favorable reviews to far out weigh the negative ones. (I did only find 3 or less) The company will be sending me another coconut egg to replace the unsatisfactory one. Even though food items are non-returnable on Amazon, their products are 100% guaranteed. It has alway been my opinion that customer service extends long after the sale-and they have definitely hit the mark in that area. I am very impressed with the customer service, and they must feel confident about their product or they would not offer it knowing that people like us, actually read these comments."Final Review/Update: For those interested in knowing the final (I promise) review of the replacement Coconut Eggs sent from Philadelphia Candies.3 or 4 days later----I did receive another egg as promised. In fact, I rec'd two of them. Now I can join the majority because this egg definitely qualifies as a "5". I say this not because it is FREE, but because it is DELICIOUS! Here is the moist coconut egg that I had been looking for. Sort of like bumping in to an old buddy. I am quite pleased, and will make future purchases. I understand that Philadelphia Candies also sell some sugar-free products so, I will order something for my diabetic husband. I know that it will be quality. Why so much "to-do" about candy? Well, like many others, I am a calorie and money counter and cannot afford to waste either (calories or money), on foods that are not truly enjoyable. I had planned to upload a picture, but I kept munching away at the egg until it was not very attractive. I did not think anyone would be interested in seeing a 2/3 eaten easter egg. The customer service was amazing-they did everything short of bringing it to the door. Because of the faith that the rep had in his company and their products I was afforded the chance to re-evaluate a delicious candy.

Arrived completely melted
It arrived completely melted. I'm thinking it was in hot trucks during shipment. I order large candy eggs from this company every year. They are delicious and have always arrived in excellent condition. I put this one in the fridge then opened it. It was a blob on the bottom of the box but still chocolate, and tastes fine. I had to jump thru a few hoops but was able to get a refund. Easter is over so I'll just consider tne part that didn't adhere to the paper a chocolate bar, thus 3 stars. .

Good chocolate nothing else is good
Although the chocolate on this egg was good, the inside was more like a marshmallow fluff than a stable Maple filling. It's a nut egg a maple nut egg and they're in the course of sharing the egg and slicing it for people, there were two tiny slices of a pecan, one nut that look like it might be a hazelnut and the rest were almonds. I hate almonds. So I got almost no nuts out of this supposed Maple nut egg. Like I say the chocolate was good the rest of it nope not so much. You can be guaranteed I'll never order another one and never recommend it.
