Very effective for getting some massage, especially in awkward places! Having three different sizes makes them useful for all members of the family.

These massage balls are really good I can see a marked improvement after just a few days use.

I injured my Achilles nearly a year ago and have had on-and-off physiotherapy for it. I also do a lot of rolling on a foam roller to reduce knots in both my quadriceps (front of thighs) and calves. However, it was becoming clear to me that what I was doing was not sufficiently effective.I have had the spiky massage balls for only a few weeks but already I am feeling a small improvement in my recovery. The massage ball (the medium-sized purple one seems to work best for me) seems to get more deeply into the knots in my calves. As a result, the discomfort in my Achilles seems to be easing off.The balls are very useful. However, you do need to put real effort into using them. Rolling my calves on top of the massage ball is not a comfortable experience, but I continue because it's good for me. So only get these if you are ready to put the hard work in.Recommended.

These were a little too hard for the person I purchased them for.

I bought these just over a year ago and totally depend on them, at least the large one. I get a lot of back pain in different parts of my back, one of which causes sciatica. People had recommended trying general firm, hard balls, but I tried a few, including a tennis ball, and couldn't bear them. The first time I tried these I was very nervous. I didn't know how hard to press, and the pain was already excruciating. I put the ball between my back and the wall and, bending my knees to help rotate the ball, gently started to work on the muscles. I had to be really gentle because of the pain, and would have stopped if my physio hadn't suggested it. To start with, it felt like the last thing I should be doing, but gradually I found I could press harder, and after 10 minutes the pain had completely gone! I was stunned. After that, if I used the ball quickly enough, I could reduce the pain significantly before it became a major issue. The only times that it hasn't helped, is when I haven't had it with me! I do a lot of creative work, bending over tables, and my back doesn't like that. If I forget to take the ball with me when working away from home, the pain is unbearable. This week, away from home and having forgotten to take the ball with me again, I pushed on to finish my work, and the pain level was through the roof. A muscle was swollen and hard, a solid massive lump on my back. I used the ball a little bit on the first day but wasn't thinking straight, so didn't use it enough. Somehow on the second day I had to manage a long phone call - as I couldn't lift my hands much at all I decided to try using the ball while I talked. It was a very long conversation - nearly two hours I think. And I was able to hold the phone and focus on the conversation rather than the pain. The ball had made such a difference that I was able to cook the evening meal, and by the following day the lump had disappeared. I continued to use the massage ball until everything had calmed down, but I learned my lesson. Which is why I'm here writing this review - I've returned to Amazon to buy a second ball, to keep in the car. Now hopefully I'll always have one close by to use at the first hint of trouble. I've been recommending these to everyone who will listen. I don't use the smaller balls but I'm sure they would help with other muscle problems in different parts of the body. I have used the large ball on my hips too, with equal success. If you're one of the minority for whom the ball splits, just get it replaced, because it's worth much more than its weight in gold.

I ordered these balls after randomly coming across them on here and, as I have Scoliosis and sometimes get lower back pain and stiffness as a result, decided they might be ideal to help with that. Also, the price seemed very reasonable and the reviews were so positive! I'm so glad I did order them! They're great and do seem to help ease the lower back pain and stiffness. I tested the big one (the pale blue one) by sitting with my back against the wall and placing the ball in the small of my back and then shifting back and forth, up and down, to roll it around. I did that for about 5 minutes and afterwards I definitely felt some improvement in the stiffness I'd been feeling up to then! I notice from some reviews that some people have said these balls are too stiff and hard for them but I think the balls have just the right amount of firmness yet the spikes have a bit of give in them as well. If they were softer I doubt they'd be as effective, especially if someone used them by laying on them with the balls(s) underneath them with their full body weight on them! I tested my blue ball clothed (of course!) and had a T-shirt on with a cami underneath and those layers were enough to ensure they didn't dig into and 'prickle' my back too much and it wasn't painful at all to use the ball, just minimally prickly at first that would be the case because they're not smooth and do have 'spikes'! Only a big girl's blouse would find them painful and intolerable to use!!In the box my balls came in was a leaflet showing the different ways in which they can be used for various conditions, etc, and also the seller sent a link to an e-book about ways to use them as well. Not only that, the seller sent a very nice message thanking me for my order and explaining that they're a family run firm and that good customer service is of utmost importance to them, etc, and I was very impressed with the personal touch of their message as well as with the speed with which they sent the balls to me and how well packaged they were (and so well priced too!). I can't recommend these balls AND the seller (ResultSport) enough and am very likely to place an order for something else from them in due course!!
