Best alternative to a Dyson!
This dryer makes quick work of thick, curly hair! I have a Dyson and bought this for my son, as his hair is longer and the dryer we had just wasn’t cutting it. But a Dyson just wasn’t in the budget so we went with the dryer our stylist recommended as well as the Dyson, that is the Shark! The diffuser attachment is awesome. I honestly wish Dyson had a retractable attachment for roots and ends, like this dryer does. It’s a little heavier, but still comfortable to hold. His hair is shoulder-length and takes 15 mins to completely dryer from dripping wet. The cold shot is also lovely for keeping frizz at bay. So if you’re wanting a Dyson, but not the investment, try this.

Loving it!
I'll start off by saying that this dryer cut my drying time (by diffusing) by at least half! Normally, it would take anything from 40mins to 1hr but with this dryer, it took less than 25mins! That alone would make it worth it. There was minimal frizz and great definition. The first two pictures were taken right after I dried my hair and the last one (wearing gray), was taken later in the evening. I had gone out for a walk and the hair got a little windblown but it still maintained definition. Of course, hair products are part of the overall effect and for this, I used LUS Curly products. As for the weight, it is a bit heavy but nothing that is not comparable to other hair dryers. I did not find it an issue at all.Absolutely loved the diffuser. It is big and I think that helped with the drying time and definition as well as volume.I have only used it once but I am freaking loving it! I will edit this if anything changes but so far, would definitely recommend it.

Best dryer diffuser ever! It’s adjustable for short or long hair!
After reading the rave reviews from my fellow wavies and curly folks on fb, I returned the Dyson for this one.( it was a Christmas present from my sweet hubby) The Shark design of a diffuser is the greatest of all time for us wavy-curly folks. It’s ADJUSTABLE people! The Dyson diffuser design, was an epic fail on their part, and it didn’t even stay on the dryer. Lol! The Shark has a nice long cord, dries fast, has 3 speeds, 3 heat settings and a cold button. Well made, incredible value for the money. The Dyson price is for the name, not quality!

Starts to overheat in time
I honestly gave this dryer a good chance bought it in 2023 here is 2025 and it's now overheating constantly. Makes drying even longer. Not worth the price because of that at all. Curly girl here find something else.

Save your money from Dyson and get yourself a Shark
I’m so glad there is another vacuum company that has invested their time and money into creating a hair dryer that competes with the Dyson. I really wanted to see what the hype was about with this product and deceived to give it a shot. I have 3A curls and I recently got a deva curl cut and so, I knew my next steps would be to invest in a diffuser. I swear this dryer makes my hair AMAZING. I’m so happy it’s lightweight because I can already see myself traveling with it everywhere I go. This dryer dries my hair in less then 15 minutes. Seriously. There’s no icky smell that comes out like the cheaper dryers and the attachments are great for whenever I want to do a blow out. The diffuser head is WAY better then the Dyson in my opinion- and the tongs are adjustable depending on if you have longer or shorter waves/curls.

Works great, but it's loud
I love the dryer and the diffuser, it's a great product, cut my drying time in half. But, whew, it's loud. The sound actually doesn't seem like it's all that loud immediately, but it's at such a pitch that you almost don't realize how loud it is until you turn it off and your ears just have an instant relief. Good thing it's fast drying and that I don't use it every day, or I'd be concerned about hearing damage.

it’s just really good
Edit— it’s super effective, and it turns out that I needed to clean the filter from stuff I couldn’t see. I have started taking a soft, dry toothbrush to the screen and brushing away from center. It’s now getting used by three curlies probably every other day.Curls are much smoother and less frizzy, and the whole thing is dramatically faster. It’s a little heavier than I wish, but I assume that’s also the thing making it work so well.Old review, a product of ignorance:I’ve had it for almost a year and a half. It does not average one entire use a week. For about a month now, it shuts off after about five minutes of use on all low settings with the diffuser. I can make it come back on for about thirty seconds at a time by tripping and resetting the surge protector bit, but that gets old in a hurry. It costs too much to only get this little use.

Superior Product and Value Compared to the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer
We have been big Dyson customers for several years. I have purchased 5 Dyson upright vacuums and 4 Dyson cordless stick vacuums for my wife and I and our children. My wife also has a Dyson Airwrap and a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer that she received as a gift in December of 2019. The Hair Dryer quit heating last week and only blows cold air. I called Dyson Customer Service, who told me that since our Hair Dryer was 5 months out of warranty that the only option was to by a new one. When I pushed, I was told that closest Dyson service center to Indianapolis is Columbus, Ohio, 162 miles away. I called the service center and the technician reaffirmed that the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is not repairable. A new Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer retails for $639 on Amazon and a refurbished one, with only a 90 day warranty for $439.Bottom line: We liked the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, but to have it only last 2 years and for Dyson to offer no options for repair or a discounted replacement is ridiculous for a $639 hair dryer. Dyson customer service is nothing like what it used to be. My solution after reading several reviews was to by the Shark HyperAIR Hair Blow Dryer for $169 on Amazon. We received it yesterday; it looks, handles, and operates as least as well as the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.
