Great for the value. Very easy to install.
Easy installation. Very well worth the money. It does everything exactly what was supposed to do. It reduces the bow of the boat getting a faster response time to plane on top speed, does get a noticeable difference of greater gas consumption reduced to a fuel increase- leading to fewer gas trips. The biggest difference between having this versus not having it is how much more smoothly the ride is on top speed, with very little usage of the trim in addition to the planning. To install it takes less than an hour. Very easy to install yourself. Take it out of the box and place it where it should be, make sure measure twice to drill once. Drill the holes with the fins on it, as it has pre-drilled holes to guide it. Place the nuts and bolts on, tighten it snug, but not to over tighten it.Depends on the make and model lower unit to install it really doesn't take long to get it done. I had to remove the prop on my 140 HP I/O. Looks great and does an amazing job for my boat. Great for water tubers and skier's that appreciate it for a faster out of the hole experience.I highly recommend it. Worth every single penny, does pay for itself.

Works great on my 14' boat with a 15hp Mercury!
Works amazingly well on my aluminum fishing boat! I noticed it immediately when I twisted the throttle. It planes at a much lower speed, allowing the boat to get out of the hole when loaded with people and gear. It also seems much more stable when passing over wakes. True 15 minute install on my 1999 Mercury 15hp outboard. Great product at a great price!

Easy to install, works well on Johnson 55 hp
Easy to install and it did exactly what I wanted. I mounted in on an old 55 hp Johnson. My boat was plowing a bit before I could get up on plane. Once I installed this, it put an end to that problem. Additional benefit is that it makes for a smoother ride at high speed - like I am gliding on the water. I am sure it helps a tad with fuel economy as well since it lifts the boat so there is less drag.

Pro and possible con !!!
Have a 11 foot Boston Whaler with a 20 hp outboard, with one person, obviously in the back of the boat, it had a very hard time getting plane. I had to lean forward and it took forever. Added the whale tail and problem fixed !!! Got on plane real easy, this product works. But the down side I had , at full throttle my motor stopped pumping water to cool the engine. I slowed down to idle speed and then the water started pumping again. I installed a new water pump and impeller last month. Took it off , problem went away. This maybe be a rare case because I never heard anyone having this problem. We sold the 2 stroke and we are having a brand new 20hp mercury installed. I ordered another tail to install as soon as I get my boat back. I’m hoping the problem was just with old motor. But these tails really work to get your on plane very fast !!

Just enough. You’ll be glad you did.
Bolts on easy.DurableStupid cheapFit my alpha 1 Gen 2 but had to use. 90* drill attachment to get in there.I tried aLarger xr3 that had great ratings but was too aggressive for my 4.3lx 20’ cc.Just robbed too much top end and made engine work harder due to drag.I tried this do to smaller size and reputation. It was worth drilling. And if they ever broke, I know the company is around for an exact replacement.Helps w/ faster planningHelps low speed steering, reduced wander.Didn’t rob speed.Keeps the boat flatter in the rough chopKeepsThe bow down a lot but didn’t lose as much trim as other/larger foil. The perfect size to make a difference without being overkill.

Great stabalizer and very happy with purchase
Works like a charm, we have a west marine inflatable dinghy with metal bottom and 15hp Honda outboard motor. We used to have to go 2 to three minutes at high speed and the bow in the air before coming on plane and leveling out for a smooth ride. Now we take off and the bow stays down and we never have to worry about waves and gunning the engine to get on plane. I love it and will buy another one when the old one wears out, it is a mush if you do like being on plane and not having to see the sky for two minutes and making a large wake trying to get on plane. I think I lost a knot or two because of the stabalizers but it is a good compromise.
