It is a bit heavy, but works great. It's a metal chain, so it is going to be heavy, but won't break like the string ones

I love these heavy duty badge holders as I’m constantly using my badge at work. I’m so tired of having cheap badge holders bust on me in the middle of the day and be stuck pocket my ID every time I have to get in and out of door.. The badge holder clips onto my scrubs easily. It has never become unattached or pop me in the hand when I was badging into a door.. Cord length is long enough for my arms and even though it’s a little heavy, it makes up for that and sturdiness.

I use this as a word ID holder for a part time job. I work that job 1-2 days a week so I don’t extend / retract it that often. It lasted about 2 years before it broke. When it did break, the housing split in two and exploded into pieces. See the attached photo. Once apart I tried to fix it but was not able to. I think in the future I’ll keep an eye on the screw in the back of the housing as that seems to be all that holds it together. Maybe some lock-tight on the screw would keep this from happening again. It was a pretty sturdy device and I’m glad it came in a two pack. Despite it breaking I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

I have a CPAP shelf I put just over the top of my headboard but the hose would often get tangled up in my pillows or I would get wrapped up in it while I was sleeping. I was afraid this reel would be too strong since it was for keys and labeled "heavy duty." The pull is strong but does not collapse the hose or pull too hard on your face gear. I coupled this lanyard/reel with a velcro cord wrap to secure it to the hose and clipped it onto the side of my shelf bracket. Works perfectly!

This product is durable, high quality, and also at a great price point IMO. I have numerous keys as well as my badges, and hand sanitizer. This product holds up it all! Thank you

Look just as pictured and I commend the company that made the little plastic strip and key ring those held up well. While the badge reels do feel sturdy it took about three months for my first badge reel to just brake apart all of a sudden while I was walking. The second one also only lasted 3 months, however this one wasn't a surprise when it came apart, it began to unscrew so I had a bit of a warning. Not sure if I’ll repurchase but it was a decent badge reel. Might last longer for people who don’t work heavy duty jobs.

I've been a nurse for seven years and I think it is safe to say that I've been through my fair share of crappy badge reels. You know the ones, they snap after a month mid-shift. After many many MANY trial and error attempts with other reels, this one is THE badge reel to get. It is heavy-duty and holds up to 2 years of abuse at a time. Yes, it will eventually still fray and break from use, but it has such a strong string, great tension (this thing holds even the heaviest of badges + accessories), and a clean, minimal aesthetic, that I can't recommend highly enough. Buy it and thank me later. I've bought six of these now and will never buy another brand.

The product broke the 1st day I used it. Not even while pulling out the cable, which my work security badge was attached, but while taking a walk off campus at lunch. When I got back to work my security badge was gone, also my ICOCA card :-(
