Perception Pescador Pilot - Fishing Kayak with Pedal Drive

I have been wanting this kayak since this model came out last year. We were very hesitant to make such a large purchase online, but it isn't sold in our region. Since I've had such a positive experience buying from Amazon sellers, we took a chance. I am thrilled with the results. The kayak arrived on time in excellent condition from the seller, and it is easy to use. I am a 55 year old woman in good health, and find it manageable with the use of a kayak cart to transport it from the truck to the landing, although I do have to transport the pedal drive separately to make the overall weight manageable. It is comfortable and fun to use, and I can't wait to get back on the water soon!UPDATE 6/10/17I have had the kayak and used it for several months now. If you are seriously considering purchasing the Pescador Pilot you have probably become aware that Perception has encountered some problems with the pedal drive prior to models manufactured before February 2017. Since mine was purchased prior to that, I did encounter occasional problems with the prop free spinning and the quick key slipping. Thankfully, we contacted Perception and they sent out an entirely new pedal drive within a week, with instructions on the installation. My husband installed it, and the new drive works perfectly with no slipping or free spinning at all. I would definitely still recommend this kayak. I love it, and it is great to know that Perception stands behind their products.

Awesome kayaks, everything went together easily. Pedal drive is smooth, easily on the knees, and a comfortable seat. We fish the Laguna Madre and there is always a wind and current...No problem....Added a milk crate, painted to match our kayaks, to hold our Dry box, misc stuff, Flag with a light, and rod holders. Fits perfect in the back and the pre-installed bungees hold it and everything else in place. I use the kayaks rod holders as tool/hook holders. On the right slide rail, I added a small deck cleat and a eye to tie a anchor/ or drift anchor, and a stringer....net is behind the chair.....Life jacket on....Now off to fish.

This Fishing Kayak is Amazing!. I love it!... I am less tired from fishing, my legs do all the job from moving around the CT River, and I can stand and cast the same time like having a boat!. Only thing I don't like about this Kayak are the rod holder are too big and your fishing rod spin around. Anything else this Kayak is GREAT!. I am sure the company can fix the problem about the Rod Holder.

I use the Precision Pescador Pilot for fly fishing. I have managed to take it out on two test runs it handles quite well. On my third trip I boated a 30 inch Tiger Musky, and had no problems with stability, even when the Musky was a hand full. The rope to pull the rudder up and down could work easier. Quite pleased with my purchase.

SEATBACK STRAP POORLY INSTALLED, PERCEPTION SENT ME NEW SEAT. MOUNTING PLATES FOR PIN THAT LOCK PEDAL SYSTEM IN PLACE TEND TO SLIDE,MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO LOCK PEDAL SYSTEM IN UP OR DOWN POSITION,TRIED TIGHTENING,KEEPS LOSENING UP. I WILL CONTACT PERCEPTION. OTHERWISE,FUN TO USE.

got it damaged after sending the wrong one the first time!! missing parts.. besides that happy w it!! just not packaged properly! for 1800.00 should come in a box not some hap hazard plastic wrap w some cardboard.. damage was kinda bad almost to the breach the hull level!! missing a pilot drive crank bolt and keel protector was hanging off missing a screw easy fix but still why do i have to track down bolts for 1800.00 gonna make the best of what I have need to get on the water and figure but, really ? come on perception and confluence kayaks!!!

3 stars due to the delivery..Awesome boat but delivery guys drop my kayak and it broke the corner piece next to the transom ..pictures to show..
