This was not for me
The short-side of this bracket is narrower than a Wimberley Arca Swiss bracket, and does not work with my Jobu gimbal tripod head. The very nice people from this company quickly got back to me about this and said to use the long-side of this bracket to attach to the Jobu. Doing this means that you have to attach your camera or scope to the short-side - uggh! The short side is poorly designed for this task. The problem is that this device needs to be redesigned to work in the way I need. I will be giving it to Goodwill.

Great accessory for a tripod
The reviews posted are mainly about how this L bracket attaches to the camera. I agree with these positive reviews that the bracket does make taking a picture in portrait view an easy task. What isn't mentioned in detail is using a tripod whether being a studio or a lightweight one. Studio tripods are heavy duty and weight isn't usually a problem but lightweight tripods work best in landscape format. When rotating the ball head to portrait mode unless you're using a light camera and lens the weight is to much for the ball head to keep level. I've tried a couple of solutions for portrait images but the best one that worked for me was a monopod with a floor stand and a yoke holding the lens. This L bracket is by far a terrific solution.I tested this bracket using two different lightweight tripods that have different price points. I attached the bracket to the quick release plate of the tripod and the camera secured to the long side of the bracket. I leveled out the camera, placed a focusing target 6 feet away and waited two hours and rechecked the target and nothing had moved using both tripods shown in the a included image.About the bracket; I commend the designer of this product for the long slot where the camera attaches. This gives you the freedom to change the battery and room to attach a USB cable going to a computer. This is a 5 star product not only for the build of this bracket but gear weight is always a consideration when remote shooting. This bracket is only 6 ounces. The lens in the image is a Canon Zoom EF 24-105mm 1:4 L IS USM. The red ring came off a couple of years ago. I bought this lens in 2006 for anyone wondering how long this plastic ring will last.

A nice universal "L" bracket at a good price.
In addition to a couple of "L" brackets I use that are model specific, I needed one that could be used on a variety of the other cameras I use from time to time. This bracket works just fine for me...and is well worth the money. The Arca-Swiss system is a very convenient way to mount a lot of my photo gear...and it's especially handy when shooting Panoramic series so that I can switch to vertical...i.e. "Portrait" mode.

Works great with Sony A6000
I wanted something not too fancy that would work with my Sony A6000. It works great. I purchased this together with a Neewer Ball Head that is also Arca-Swiss compatible. Both work well together. The L is big enough to use it in other cameras. For the A6000 is perfect. If you don't want to cover the Battery compartment you just leave some space in the side, which will also allow you to open the door for the USB charging. Horizontal and vertical mount works perfect. Also there are a couple of screws at the bottom that can be used as safety to prevent the camera from sliding out of the ball head. You can remove them if you want a faster way to mount the camera into the tripod.

Works great for Sony a6000
This is a great, affordable solution for portrait photos using a tripod. It didn’t come with instructions, but they weren’t needed. It is universal for different tripods (I’m assuming). It mounted to both of my tripods no problem. Pictured is my Sony a6000 and I mounted it with a little gap, but you can mount it however you want. The bracket also comes with extra hardware. The a6000 is a mirrorless and lighter than DSLRs, but it should still work fine for either.

Well Above Expectation, Yay!
Upon reading the reviews for this universal “L” bracket and after reading many other descriptions and reviews on similar brackets I went with this one. I must say I was impressed right out of the package. I immediately attached it to my Olympus EM-1 mirrorless camera and it’s a perfect fit and at a reasonable price. True, it fits over the battery compartment of my camera but I don’t have a problem removing it if the battery needs to be replaced. Photography is a hobby for me so it’s not like I feel that I will miss a moment while taking pictures. All I can say is it’s cool to be able to use the camera horizontally and vertically and that the body holds steady. It does what I want it to do. I highly recommend this universal “L” bracket for an Olympus EM-1 Mirrorless Camera.

Great L-bracket
Works perfectly with my Canon 80D. Allows the use of the camera in vertical position for multishot panoramas to keep the camera on the same plain throughout the sequence. It is Arca-swiss compatible. It is a good solid feel and and a bit more weight to the camera body. It comes shipped in a flat box and needs assembly.Good value for the money.

Well built and sturdy camera L bracket
This is a very well built and sturdy camera L bracket. It takes 2 minutes to assemble and holds the camera securely with the Arca standard clamp. Just to be pedantic I ran my engineers' square over it and it is spot on 90 degrees. Take care to position the base of the camera so you can access the battery compartment. This leaves you an inch or so space at the end to use as a carry handle also, making it much easier to manipulate the camera when setting up.Wholeheartedly recommended.
