Excellent! My 9yo is using this book and loves how much she has learned!

This book was USED!! Some other person has already drawn all over it. What the hell am I supposed to do with this!?! Unbelieveable.

Our five year old daughter received this book as a gift and what a great one it was. This book breaks drawing down into simple steps and shapes that even an adult with no artistic ability can use. My daughter and I can now draw a monkey or a horse or a pirate ship just as well as the illustrators demonstrate. Very cool book...highly recommend.

I bought this for my 6 year old hoping it would help encourage him in drawing. It hasn't. He's just not an art kid. Never was and probably never will be. But this book is really cool. The drawings are easy to follow, step by step. You can draw right in the book, which he did for one page about bugs, or you can just follow the directions to draw the shapes anywhere else.Even though my 6 year old didn't enjoy it, I really don't think that's anything against the book. And I've started pulling it out for my 3 year old daughter. While the book is meant for an older child, she really enjoys it. She loved learning how to draw her own fish on the very first page! While they might not look exactly like they do in the book, she was so proud of herself for doing it without any help.I highly recommend this book if your child actually likes art. It probably won't help much if your trying to get them more interested in it like I did at first. But with my daughter, I'm sure this book will get plenty of use as she gets a little older.

Large, high quality book that any young person who likes to draw would enjoy. It's rather expensive as each page can only be drawn upon once, but it can serve as a good reference if the child is willing to draw on separate pieces of paper. I bought this for a 5 year old, based on her mom's request, and I think she may be a bit young for it right now. I don't recall seeing a recommended age range, but unless the child shows some artistic talent, I think the book is better suited for some one a little bit older or more skilled.

I've been looking at drawing books at the library and book stores and this is the best one I could find for the level I was looking for. My 7 year old son has mild cerebral palsy and has fine motor issues, and this book is just challenging enough for him for it to be fun. Unlike some other "how-to" drawing books, you can draw right in the book; unlike other workbooks, you can keep this book for reference later.

The best drawing book ever for kids age 4 and above! I have 5 year old twins (girl and boy) and they both enjoy following the step by step instructions of the book. Simple, cute drawings of animals, cars, flowers, etc. put into nice, eye-catching background. I have been bought the book for a few classmates of my kids too ( as a birthday gift), it is a big success!

Wonderful book! My 5yr.old daughter draws at her preschool. But we don't have any drawing books at home. So when a friend of hers was using this book, she was immediately intrigued by it. She started asking for a blank paper to draw on. It is very simple to follow, and pictures are big enough to see. They are very, very cute. Even my 3 yr.old son wanted her sister to draw him something. Since I bought this book, she uses it very often. Good book for beginners. Love this book:)
