5 Stars only for the excellent book content.....
5 Stars only for excellent Content of book. This Global Edition (with printed sold only in India on cover) book has poor binding, poor quality print pages seems like poor photocopy pages and Poor quality cover pages, although all Pearson Indian Edition Books available in same conditions. Apart from this the book has step by step approach for system architecture and excellent explanation of topics. Although the prerequisites of book is C but I found it to be a great brush up source to the C language and good intro to assembly as well.

Best beginner's book on computer System
Its a very good book and it's organization is fantastic as well. The most Important thing about this book is that it introduces Computer architecture from a very practice oriented viewpoint. What happens underneath your C code and How the computer deals with it.

Must Read for System Programmer Beginners
One of the best books available in computer systems. It covers topics such as numerical representation, assembly, buffer overflow vulnerabilities, caches, virtual memory, dynamic memory allocation, signals, concurrency and network programming. All of these topics are essential for a good systems understanding and the book covers them beautifully. The good part about 3rd edition that it covers 64 bit instruction set which is in sync with modern times.

Now useless
I've not read it, but the whole thing is Linux on x86-64, and therefore, now, with the advent of ARM and RISC-V, almost totally useless. And also those little things called Quantum Computers.

A must read for any serious System Programmer
A great book that not only goes into details for various abstraction layers in the system - it also explains how to use this knowledge to write better programs. A must read for any serious system programmer - I wish I had read it sooner.
