Works great, slight usability problem
This product is sturdy and has held up a lot better than my previous plastic litter scooper. The pee clumps in the litter like to stick to the wall, and this tool is very good at unsticking them. The fact that it doesn't have walls so much on its edges makes it easier for poop to accidentally roll off it and back into the litter, but it's easy enough to keep it level so it doesn't happen often. One thing to note is that it has a round shape, whereas most litter pans are rectangles. This means that the scooper will almost never line up flush with the litter pan wall. This makes it difficult to scoop tiny turds that like to evade scooping. The roundness of it also makes it slightly harder to level the litter after cleaning. I usually like to spread the litter around to make it level, and it's really hard to make flat surfaces with a round tool.If you don't mind it being round, then this tool is a great and sturdy option

Has a couple flaws, but okay.
The idea surrounding these scoops was good, but there were 2 problems that would make me not want to buy them, if knowing to begin with. The scoops bends at the neck when attempting to dig out or scoop clumping litter from a multi-cat box.The neck at the base of the handle attaching to the scoop is not wide enough for sturdiness, due to the fact of a thin gauge metal and no C channel. The manufacturer sould simply widen the neck to about an inch and a half (1 1/2"), and make the overall thickness of the metal used a couple more Mils thicker, with a channel bend at the neck, to stop the metal from flexing/bending. Then, and only then, would the product be great.

The best litter-scoop Ever! - Now, not so much. (12/5/17*)
I purchased this or one very similar at PetCo. many years ago and was amazed at how durable it was. Since I have 5 litter boxes here for my "Brat Pack" I decided to purchase a few more rather than carry one from place to place. Unfortunately my local PetCo no longer carries them, nor do they have them at PetCo online. I suspect that they're made 'a little too well' and there's more of a quick turnover / profit selling the cheap chrome ones and the even cheaper plastic ones! If youI wouldn't even bother with a plastic one and I've wasted money on chrome ones that bend and rust. I'm glad I found this one here and will likely buy a few more since they're becoming harder to find. This is well worth the price!***If you look at the photo of the "single" scoop it is slightly pointed, whereas the "pair" being offered are both completely rounded. What you get either way are the completely rounded scoops. The one I had (and still have as mentioned above) was the somewhat pointed one that allowed me to clean in the corners of the boxes. These rounded ones make it a real challenge and a struggle. In addition, after several months of use two of the handles on the new ones started to loosen and one of them started to bend.So the HDP Litter Scoop (also sold as a few other brands but still the completely rounded shape) does not measure up to the old "World's bst litter-scoop ever. Sorry to say. If I find one that does, I'll let you know.

After nearly a decade, it's like brand new.
This product offers the strength, is thin enough to get under and between the box and “goodies” and a couple of swishes in the toilet and it’s completely cleaned off. So, don’t be fooled by the plastic scoopers… Think about it, you’ll be digging through rough gravel and sand, dealing with rather potent discharge. And, you would honestly think plastic could hold up?? Let alone, not retain the smells?? Okay, so you never stored spaghetti sauce in a plastic container… Moreover, how thick do you think the plastic would have to be to hold up against such conditions?? And, how do you think a thick plastic scooper is going to get the job done?In closing, if you think plastic is the way to go, cut it out of a Plastic Milk Carton (about a Quart size bottle) and save the entire price.

Makes a crappy job less crappy
Makes a crappy job a little less crappy. I'm a pet-sitter and was first introduced to this littler-scooper by one of my clients with three cats. Every kitty has their own style in the litter box, and this scoop handles the job quite nicely.1. The shaft is sturdy and does not bend when digging deep and lifting a "deposit"2. The handle is smooth and easy on the hand (where some have rough edges)3. The handle is long, helping me keep more of a distance from the end in which I want to keep a distance.4. The scoop scoops and lifts with firmness, and it allows excess litter to easily filter through.Of all the scoops I have used (and there's been many), this is my favorite and the one I choose at home.

Lasted less than 2 months
The length, feel, and scraping ability are good. However, this is not reinforced metal and it fatigues easily. I used this on regular non-clumping clay litter but the act of moving the litter around eventually fatigued the aluminum and it bent. I changed my hand position to cover the bend (think of it like "choking up" on a bat) but it reduced my overall leverage because I was only then using a half-length scooper. I opted for the 6-pack of similar scoopers I found on here figuring that at least I get 6 of them. I'm still hoping that the World's Greatest Cat Scooper comes back as that lasted me 12 years.

Stop wasting money on plastic junk scoops. These will last a lifetime.
I prefer this style scoop over the plastic ones HANDS DOWN. I have had this style before, I think my ex ended up with it and I don't know what I've been doing the last 8 years with the straight edge wedge shaped ones. Got this for my new kitten since he's in temporary isolation (was feeling poorly the first few days) and didn't want cross-contamination with our other cats. I forgot how much better these work and the longer handle keeps me from having to turn my head to avoid litter dust and gags. We use World's Best litter and scoop at least once daily. If you don't scoop frequently and your cats favor one corner to tinkle, I could see it being less effective, but really just scoop more. Your kitty deserves it, and you deserve a good handle to do so.

Much better than plastic scoops
Much better than plastic scoops. Don't waste your time with anything but metal - it gets the job done so much better. Works great for my two little munchkin cats. Might possibly be a bit small for larger jobs from larger kitties such as Maine Coons and such, but for normal day to day scooping it does the job well. Great for all kinds of small grain littler. And easy to clean.
