Winegard GM-9035 Black Carryout G3 RVSatellite Antenna

I do not recommend this product. We are full-time RVers, and TV reception is very important for us. We have a Winegard Trav’ler on top of the motorhome. We have two mobile antennae - a Winegard Pathway X2 and this Carryout G3. The reason for two mobiles is that we have had too many issues trying to run two different TVs off one mobile receiver: (1) setup is difficult because you must initialize each unit on the “main” coax terminal of the Dish, then move one to the “secondary” input; (2) you can only watch the secondary TV if it is on a channel that uses the same satellite as the channel on the main TV; and (3) in order to watch the secondary TV at all, the main TV must be on - this meant we had to have to living room TV on in order to watch the bedroom TV. So now we have the Carryout G3 and the Pathway X2, each powering a different TV. The Pathway X2 sets up easier, locks on to all the satellites better, and just generally works much better than the Carryout. Right now, we are getting all three satellites and all channels for Dish on the Pathway X2. The Carryout G3 that is right next to the Pathway X2 is only getting one satellite, and it isn’t even getting all the channels on that satellite. We bought the Carryout because of the power inverter that it utilizes to provide power to the antenna. We thought that would help with reception. We spend HOURS trying to set this thing up every time we need it, and it is always a disappointment. It is going in the garbage. Do yourself a favor and buy something that actually works. One star because there is nothing lower.

Bought thinking I'd use it with DirecTV, but have Genie system (main receiver HS17-500) at home. After finally getting no help from DirecTv, & numerous attempts to call Wingard help, finally got thru & talked to a nice lady from Winegard who advised due to my home Genie system, I cannot use the carryout unless I change my entire home system, downgrade from the Genie then lease an additional Dtv receiver... so for a road trip asked to use my Father-in-law's Dish Acct. Worked perfectly the 1st time, after spending an hour on the phone with a very patient and nice DISH TV guy... most of that was switching from my father-in-law's receiver that was overheating to a Wally we bought on the road... 2nd setup could not get satellites to acquire (apparently due to operator error, not following instructions). 3rd stop, re-read setup procedures, followed them & in about 20 minutes had service again... read instructions carefully & follow!!! (Power inserter off, hook coax cable to dish, then to power inserter, then short coax cable to inserter, then to receiver (or coach/camper satellite port) plug power cord to 110v, then plug power cord into inserter. Lastly turn inserter on... I also had to unplug Wally to let it reset. Worked well near McAllen TX & New Orleans. 4 stars because a bit twitchy to hook up, otherwise so far works good. Probably switching my home to Dish due to Dtv being not too friendly for on the road servive.

Garbage product, stay away. Will not connect to more than one satellite and will not track properly. It seems like there is something wrong with the mechanism inside the dome as it makes a grinding noise when powered on initially, which could be why it’s not tracking multiple satellites on the roof of an RV or in a mobile spot in clear view of the sky behind our rig.

When we received the G3, it was white. As it wasn’t a problem for us, we proceeded to install on our RV. Easy install and works well.

Was told this is what we needed. Nope..can't use it. Now were out 576.00

We tried for 4 hours to set this up and it didn't work, now upon return they are going to charge us a 20% restocking fee!

Worked as advertised for my RV 5th wheel. Had no issues with initial setup. Takes a little longer to get through the find satellite phase, but nothing to be concerned about.
