Not her best work
I've always been a fan of Rachel Gibsons books but this one disappointed. I think the backstory of the two main characters could have been told in more depth, but I think building a romantic storyline around a parents death, funeral and subsequent house clearance wasn't a great setting. The storyline was slow, it didn't get going until at least halfway through the book and even then didn't get that exciting. Definitely not her best work.

Rachel Gibson is back
And really really good... After reading a few not quite as terrific as I expected stories by Gibson, this has all the elements I adore about her writing: smart, funny, flawed but fabulous heroine? CHECK. Hot, handsome, messed up and witty hero? CHECK. Deep emotion, hilarious supporting characters and a whole wonderful world you can't wait to be a part of? CHECK. And there's also lots of southern charm, a hilarious teenage diary, lots of family secrets and a surprise baby in there too. Loved it. Now give me more.

... halfway through the book but I am a little disappointed with it so far
I am only halfway through the book but I am a little disappointed with it so far. it seems to be running along the lines of the story Sabrina which has been made into 2 films, even down to the heroine growing up in the coachouse and the mother of the sons telling the oldest one to distract Vivien from his younger brother. I am hoping as the story goes on that it will change, if not my opinion of this writer will alter. I have read all her stuff and there have been a few turkeys but also a few brilliant ones. I suppose it is too much to hope that every story will be a gem

Ok
Still not as good as previous books better than the last few. Little on the predictable side but an easy summer holiday read however my favourite is still truly madly deeply
