Garden Ladies Border Fork + Spade Carbon Steel Lady Set

The handle to metalwork join is the weakest link here and I suspect (from experience elsewhere) that this is likely to fail after a couple of hundred hours use - depending on loads. My fork is an example of a wonky handle fixing.The metalwork looks to be of good quality but the assembly process needs improving to eliminate handles inserted at an angle to the socket so that the tool looks bent.The handles need finishing before dispatch to get rid of sprue on the injection moulded handles at the 'seam'.The excess plastic can be rough and cuts the skin.Once a sharp blade is on the spade and the fork's tine points sharpened a little more they will be fine (I hope).They were a good price and as long as the handle stand up they will be good value, too.

This is small and light to use but still does the job that it's intended for. A little plastic looking but seems strong. Definitely more suitable for women or children due to the size. It's perfect for me, I'm 5'1" with small hands and I found the fork easy to use. Time will tell if it as durable as it first appears

Perfectly good spade and fork for general use. I am 5ft 2 and find the size is good for me. However, plenty of women are much taller than me and would find standard size tools fine.

My late husband has lots of garden tools ,most of them I use but the spade and fork were too heavy for me. I was so pleased with my ;ladies set . I have managed great with them. I had some things in the garden which were really hard to dig out, but I gave the soil a good soak left it over night, and next morning with the help of my new spade was able to dig out no bother. I am a novice to this gardening lark but I am learning something new each day

A little heavier than expected otherwise excellent value.
