It's ok, but with medium-pile carpet it will leave chair inents in the mat. It would be fine for very short-pile carpet, but much more than that will cause it to turn up at the edges and sink in creating a spot where the chair wheels will indent. (I know, I just need to get the carpet out of my office!!!)

Our main goal for the mat? To protect new carpet against wear from the office chair. Goal met? Yes.Cannot speak to durability. Have not owned it long enough. Sturdiness? The mat is softer than I expected. The mat came boxed, rolled up in about a 12" diameter. Because it's softer, after sitting in the office chair for a little while, the chair will sink into the mat, creating depressions at each wheel. When attempting to readjust the chairs position, extra effort is required to overcome the ruts created by the chair in the mat. The mat will return back to its original shape once the chair is moved away from the depressions. Value for the money? IMO, a little pricier, but too early to tell the true value without a few years of experience with it. So far, we're satisfied overall.

Looked good at first but after 1 day, the wheels of my chair have already made dents in it. Now, it is annoying BUT its 10x better than the ones I've had before, which would literally crack and break into pieces *for example, the gorilla glue ones. looked and worked good at first but less than a month later I already had to replace it.

Used it for several years before it started cracking.

I think my carpet pile is took long for this particular mat, since I will get slight indents if the chair wheel sits too long in one place. Maybe I should have opted for a thicker chair mat. But for now it works well, better than trying to roll through carpet. My kids (okay, they weight less than me) seem to have no problem with their chairs/mats. So I guess for kids this is a good choice. But for adults you need to think about weight/pile/mat thickness. Overall it's a good mat. Though I may have to upgrade at some point.

I weigh over 300 pounds so most of my mats expire quickly, but this one is showing NO signs of wear after about 4 months so far…Very happy

I put it between desk and I can wheel back-and-forth and work on two projects at the same time.

Preferably a warm temp. This will aid you in unrolling and, thereby, placing it.●I also suggest having the help of a friend to unroll, but if that's not possible.....1.) Turn the mat over on its "back" near the area your want it placed.2.) Place a heavy object on either side of the "underbelly" of the mat.3.) Wearing durable shoes, step on the "underbelly" of the mat, whilst pulling the other end towards you.•••You might have to gently bend the mat in half at the middle to counteract is tendency to roll up.4.) As soon as you have the ability to lay the mat on the carpet ("underbelly" now facing down towards carpet.)5.)Step lightly in a few spots to "tack" down the mat.6.) Drag the mat carefully (so as not to snag your carpet) towards the intended spot and place there. Step on the mat to now firmly "tack" it down.7. ) Last, place heavy objects on top of each corner of the mat for 24 hrs.Enjoy ! 😉

Have only had the mat for a few days. That said, it's the perfect size and fit for my home office situation. The regular flooring is low pile carpet but I've noticed that if I sit in one spot with my office chair there are indents in the mat where the chair wheels sit. The dents appear to smooth out quickly so that's a bonus.

Product was good. Wasn’t as hard to flatten as I keep seeing in the review. I live in cool climate & I had littke issue getting it to flatten.

Sturdy, doesn't break, best value for money and it looks elegant on floor

I would rate this product as high for floors with no carpet but this product is terrible for carpets. This mat has developed four deep craters (that have cracked through) and make it impossible to move your chair without a lot of effort. Tried to avoid spending big bucks on a glass mat but if you have carpet your wasting your money with this product. Don't want you to make the same mistake. Work on from home you homies!

I had done a lot of research regarding this and other chair mats before I bought this one. It said that it was non-toxic but clearly upon opening up the package there was a very strong chemical odour emanating from this mat. I kept a window open for a couple of days and it was still there and it even gave me a headache. I returned it.
