Excellent buy for my noisy NUC media center
I use my NUC as a media center so having a quiet machine was important. Now it makes no sound at all. It does get quite warm, but that just means it's working like it should.Mine is placed in a confined pace inside a stereo rack. There is airflow, but not much - machine is doing fine.Installation is easy if you know a little bit about computer components and how to handle a screwdriver. Took me 30 minutes from start to finish.

Great case! Ok
Great case! Ok, it's expansive of course. But the quality of material it's absolutely awesome! Temp idle 35\40° - Full load 60\65° (avarage -20° than original nuc case)

no wifi antenna included
The product quality is really good but I missed the WiFi antenna

This is the best fanless case I've ever seen
Okay, so I'm a big fan of the Intel NUC line, as they're actual x86-64, use a real (low power, but real) Core i3/5/7 chip, and support NVMe drives. Their cooling solution is absolutely terrible, though. A 20mm fan at several thousand RPMs makes a high-pitched whine that you can hear in another room, and if you have even slightly sensitive hearing, it's incredibly annoying. Especially when you're using it as a media PC, like me. It's hard to enjoy a movie or TV show with that background, 60dB whine in the background.I picked up this case, really hoping that it wasn't a boondoggle where I'd have to go back to the OEM chassis after trying it.First impressions:It's much bigger than it looks. Bigger than you think. In my photo, you'll see the original NUC case on top of this case. It's heavy, and those heatsink fins mean business ... this isn't a nod towards thermal management tech, this is a carefully designed product.Installation:The instructions are ... not great. I've been in IT for over 20 years, and I second guessed myself a few times. Take your time, and really pay attention to the graphics for scale (to find the right part/screw/thermal material), because it's mostly graphics, and very little text. There are no included instructions for disassembling your NUC, but YouTube has many videos. It only takes a few screws and about 5 minutes.Assembly took me about 45 minutes, because I was moving carefully. DO NOT FORGET TO CLEAN THE OLD THERMAL PASTE OFF YOUR NUC CPU BEFORE ASSEMBLY. I think some people experiencing high temperatures either didn't do this, didn't do it well, or didn't apply the new thermal interface material carefully.Steps to clean:Get a lint free, microfiber cloth. Soak it in isopropyl alcohol (91% if you can get it, but 70% will work). Rub the CPU and PCH chips until they are shiny like a mirror. It might take 5 minutes, as your old thermal paste is probably dried out and bonded on. It will come off, but don't use anything other than the cloth ... you don't want to scratch that shiny surface. Done! Now, when applying your thermal pads and paste, remember, you really only get one shot at this. Make sure your hands are freshly washed and clean, line everything up, and make doubly sure you're applying the right thermal component to the right part.Other than that, the included screws are well machined, every part I needed was included, and the placement of things makes sense. I also like that once you've got this fully assembled, your system is hermetically sealed, and there can't be any dust buildup inside the case. No fans to fail. I have a feeling I'll hang on to this system for years longer than I would have otherwise now.Actual usage:As this is my media PC, the silence of this case is amazing. But it wouldn't be worth anything if the CPU overheated or constantly throttled itself (and shortened the life of the system). In my second photo, you'll see my standard Intel NUC 5i5RYH model running at 38C in this case while running Plex in the browser along with some normal background tasks. After the chassis fully reached stable temperature, it's averaging about 42C at 50% load. Since the thermal limit is 105C, that's a lot of headroom. I'm very happy. Conclusions:If you have a NUC that this chassis fits, and don't mind doubling the size of your current chassis, buy this one. Everything about it is top notch, other than the instructions. Silence is golden!

Ottimo case, dissipa meglio del dissipatore normale.
Ottimo case per disfarsi delle ventole; oltre alla silenziosità, ora la temperatura della cpu è passata da 70°C a 45°C, a tutto vantaggio della durata dei componenti.

Wertig

High quality case for NUC 5i7, does the job well
This is a great case for the Intel 5i7 NUC. The parts are quality and the build went together very smoothly. I found the fit and finish to be excellent. The instructions are visual, so you need to do a little interpreting, and they assume you have already removed the board from the factory NUC case...so I went out to YouTube and read about how to disassemble it. No big deal. Also, I had to buy the ultra-thin RF cables for wireless and Bluetooth - about $6 delivered to my house and a little tricky to snap onto the card (it sits underneath the m.2 SSD). Search on "2pcs IPEX U.fl/IPEX to RP-SMA" and you will see it. But the case does a great job of cooling. My unit runs in the low to mid 30's under idle, up to 45-50 under moderate load, and into the 60s to low 70s with high-res gaming - well below the 105 maximum. I am using CoreTemp to track how hot it gets. Best of all, the unit is completely silent. Overall, the case is a little expensive, yes, but it looks fantastic on my desk. I love the fact that there is no logo or brand on the case. Shipping from Akasa in Taiwan took about 4 business days.
