MR MAKHANA BLACK SALT 75 GM

I regularly buy popped lotus seeds, but I have never tried the black salt flavour. I am also a big fan of black salt, but you do either love it or hate it. There's not really any in between.Compared to the other flavours, this packet is on par. It has subtle flavouring, but is moreish.The health benefits of this snack is great and I have actually replaced my daily packets of crisps with a bowlful of these.This was, however, more expensive than what I usually pay for the snack.

These taste great and would buy again. I do wish there was more in quantity but the taste was super good.

These are a nice alternative snack, giving a good savoury crunch; and they are fairly low-calorie so good if you want to avoid higher fat/sugar snacks.I fed them to a group of six people - three thought they were ok-ish, with a nice crunch but didn't find the taste that interesting, and indeed disliked the aftertaste. The other three loved them and hoovered them up.The taste is mild, and the pop in your mouth lovely - much more 'poppy' than popcorn. Ideal for snacking as you work, or for a group of friends.So

Was lacking a bit in flavourI had high hopes for these and I had been looking forward to eating them all day. The bag screams quality, it's a thick plasticised foil bag which actually made it hard to rip open - but once open, I was greeted with a gorgeous spicy smelling aroma that just oozed out of the bag and straight up my nostrils. The smell made me immediately start to salivate.The popped lotus seeds are a bit larger than a pea and they are a bit weird in that some are crunchy and others are soft, so it was a guessing game each time I put one into my mouth as to whether there would be a crunch or a squish (personal preference, I preferred the squishier ones). The flavour was a bit weird, I couldn't detect lime and I couldn't detect the chilli, I could smell the chilli but the flavour wasn't there. Some of the popped seeds were pretty bitter (not as in the bitterness of lime, but rather the bitterness of being a bit burnt).On checking the dietary information, the amount of calories, fat, saturated fat etc is pretty much on par with the dietary information found on packet of cheese & onion crisps in a multipack from a certain popular brand of crisps that are available globally (although the brand name differs outside of the UK).Are they value for money? Sadly, I would have to say no, primarily because of the fact my packets were lacking in flavour, but also because you could get an equivalent bag of lentil based chips for less than half the price of these lotus seed based ones.

These are light, crunchy and taste amazing! I wish they were available in smaller bags too for work lunches.

I am always on the look out for lower calorie snacks and these Mr Makhana Popped Lotus Seeds are both new to me and at 89 calories for 25g they are a welcome addition to the variety of snacks my family eat. You get 75g in the bag which holds 3 serving or is a good bag for sharing. These popped lotus seeds are Black Salt flavoured but are not overly salty at all and are not greasy. They are cooked in olive oil and offer a different and new texture and flavour than any other snacks I have tried before. I would say this is a savoury snack. The texture is hard to describe, they are smooth on the outside and have a sort of puffed middle with a very light crunch which is nice. The seeds are lightly flavoured with black salt, chilli and coriander and are very moreish. This product is made from the makhana water plant and is a natural snack with no added preservatives, additives nor any trans fat. We liked it and felt it was good enough value for money to purchase more.

Mr. Makhana's Piri Piri flavored snacks have definitely upped my snacking game!The packaging is not only visually appealing but also ensures the freshness of the product. I can't get enough of the bold and zesty Piri Piri flavour with every bite.If you're looking for a airy snack that marries health (low-calorie) and flavour, Mr. Makhana's Piri Piri is the one!Can’t recommend enough!

As a big snacker, I’m always on the lookout for new things to try-and the fact that these are low in calories is an added bonus. These come in a large/sharing-bag -although the volume of contents is a little disappointing. Texture-wise, they resemble what I remember the old breakfast cereal “sugar puffs” used to be like… light and not overly crunchy, but not unpleasant. Personally though, I’m afraid these weren’ t to either mine or my family’s taste…. the smell put me off a bit, and they don’t taste of very much ( I think I expected them to be stronger/ more peppery)- and they leave a not very nice aftertaste. I can see from the other reviews that others liked them, though- so I guess it’s just down to personal taste.

Taste is awesome the crunch is also great.Superr healthy and tasty snack.Value for money without any doubt.Thumbs up for Mr Makhana👍🏻
