Each blade is forged in Germany from the highest quality German produced chrome vanadium, hardened to Rc-61 along its entire length and polished to a mirror finish. Although, due to their hardness, these chisels will take a little longer to hone to a razor sharp edge, the edges will stay sharper for longer and the whole length of the blade can be used. The long, integral tangs seat the blades firmly in the handles which are turned from European hornbeam. Hornbeam is favoured for its straight grain and hardwearing nature which gives the handles durability. The handles are supported by steel reinforcing bands at both the top and bottom of the handles to prevent them splitting or spreading when struck with a mallet. This set comprises six chisels: 6mm, 10mm, 12mm, 16mm, 20mm and 26mm. Overall lengths range from 244mm to 300mm.
