The coverlet was very pretty, but in the woven threads were black threads every once in a while....maybe some imperfect threads or oil got on the threads. That does not mean the next coverlet would have the same problem, but mine did.

I purchased this same item from Peacock Alley in Dallas Tx about 14 years ago and it is just now starting to wear. I have washed it many time since then and it has held up exeptionally well. I am today buying my second one of these. I use this and a sheet all year long and that's all I need. Keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I highly recommend this coverlet. One tip: get a size larger, as it shrinks quite a bit.

I have a California King rice bed and have spent ages looking for a coverlet or duvet cover locally or in catalogues that actually fits the bed. Most bedding is labeled King/Cal King and, as we all know, a Cal King is not simply a King bed turned sideways! Thanks to Peacock Alley for making a lovely product and for also making the dimensions perfect for a Cal King bed. The coverlet not only covers my entire mattress on all three sides, it goes down to the wood bed rails so I don't have to see the top of my box spring. The quality is lovely and it is exactly what I have been searching for for ages. I only wish I had thought to check Peacock Alley sooner!Edited to add: This coverlet has been washed in cold water and dried on low heat. After two washes it doesn't even cover my mattress any longer. I will never buy Peacock Alley again.

I'm very disappointed that I followed the laundering instructions on the tag of this quilt to a tee and it shrunk a full size and, now, barely covers my mattress.UPDATE 11/30/15:I'm reducing my rating to 1 star. After having washed this quilt twice now, following the instructions to a tee, it barely covers my mattress now. My husband is angry and I'm livid.

I purchased this coverlet and washed and dried per instructions. The drying took a long time because it was only dried on low in the dryer for a few minutes then hung to finish drying. The first time it was washed and dried there was little shrinkage. The second time, even thought I went through the same process the coverlet shrunk several inches. So much that I have to pull it to one side of the mattress to cover the exposed mattress and box spring. I purchased a more expensive coverlet to avoid shrinkage in hopes of covering all sides of the bed.It is pretty and feels nice.I would not purchase another.
