I'm new to rock tumbling and people I have spoken with have universally said their biggest complaint was the noise. The tumbler I bought was supposed to be quieter than average but I bought these to help out even more. Where I noticed a big difference was between the first and second grit I didn't add additional pellets to compensate for the loss of material in the first tumble and it was significantly noisier. In the 3rd grit phase I added new pellets to get the drum about 2/3 full and the difference in noise is amazing. Since I haven't run any without the pellets I can't speak to how it is affecting the performance of the tumbling vs without the pellets but I'm happy with the results I've seen so far.

This product does a great job of dampening the noise of rock tumbling. I actually use it with tumbling coins I dig from the ground,works wonderfully with out trashing the coins. Pellets are reusable and float which makes it easy to separate them from the slurry.

The media worked well but I was hoping the pellets would be a bit larger. I had trouble saving the pellets for future use because they fell through my straining device.Aside from that, they worked well and saved my rocks from pounding each other to dust.

I used this product as filler in a rock tumbler for later, polishing stages. It worked very well although I have yet to successfully clean the pellets enough to reuse them. Nonetheless they worked very well, arrived on time and well packaged for shipping.

Looking forward to the results! Thanks for offering this product for rock tumbling. The only shame is that this doesn't come in most of the beginner's kits.

ordered with 2 day shipping got it 5-6 days later. was NOT happy about that as i needed it on the day it was supposed to get there. yet i had to wait 4 more days for it to arrive... other than that the beads work great for the polishing part of the rock tumbler.. makes the tumbling a lot quieter. works great if you only have a few pieces to polish and you don't want to do a full load.

I have not used these yet, but they look perfect for the application, and the prices right.

unfortunately this product did not meet my expectations. I understand this product was intended for final stages of rock tumbling but the results did not help to produce a high polish on the rocks.

I have tried to use felt and other products to "soften" the process of polishing and tumbling obsidian and soft rocks with hit and miss results. So far I have had good and repeatable results with this product and it has held up to the bit of use I have put it through well. It is a nice addition to the tools and opens up more possibilities for my lapidary and tumbling.

The "heavy duty bag" was ripped when I got it and that was placed in another bag. Plastic beads were falling out when I opened the package.
