Love the temp lock lid
The media could not be loaded. Update: the temp lock lid has some big advantages over the other options: 1) It's secure (simple screw on lid) so you can throw the mug in a bag with other things where it will get jostled around and it will not leak and 2) It's vacuum insulated so it allows the mug to keep hot drinks hot for longer. There is one downside to the temp lock lid too: you have to unscrew it to drink. But having done that, you can also pour without spilling. You can also slurp from the mug, i.e. inhale air while sipping, which lets you drink hotter liquids without burning yourself.-------------Great mug hampered by poor lidsTL;DR: the "luxury" lid is terrible and the flip top lid is better but flawed too. I like the thermal properties of the mug though.Full review:The luxury lid is terrible. It's hard to drink from because it's so chunky and you also can't inhale air as you sip in order to cool down drinkswhich are still too hot (and if they started at boiling they'll still be too hot even after the phase change material melts). You also can't pour from the luxury lid very well because it always drips, although if you're willing to unscrew it every time you can pour well from the bare container with no lid. Also, the luxury lid gives off a plastic smell/taste when hot liquids touch it. Maybe the flip top lid would be better.Update: Okay, here's the thing about this lid: it works sort of okay if your liquid is cool enough. But if your liquid is too hot, you will burn yourself with this lid. There's no way to sip carefully enough or slowly enough or blow on it. If your liquid is too hot, you have to unscrew this lid and sip directly from the bottle. If you do sip directly from the bottle, you can easily drink very hot liquids without burning yourself. This is substandard performance for a lid. I have other lids on other mugs which don't suffer from this problem. This lid design relies on the mug being able to cool the liquid enough so you won't burn yourself. But you can overwhelm the mug's ability to cool adequately if you fill it repeatedly as I do when I'm drinking cup after cup of tea. You can also overwhelm the cooling mechanism if you use water which is too hot, such as boiling water for tea. But if you start with a cold mug and pour in a liquid which is not too hot, such as from a drip coffee maker, then in that case everything works out okay. The manual suggests rinsing the mug in cold water to restore its ability to cool liquids.I guess the way I'm choosing to use this thing is different than their intended use case. They expect you to take a cold mug, pour in your drip coffee, and leave for work. The phase change material cools the drink enough for you to avoid being burned and then keeps it there longer than you could without it. I think everything works out in that case. But I'm strictly using the phase change material to do the second part of that, stay hot longer. I overwhelm it at first by pouring in boiling water to brew tea. That's when I'm forced to unscrew the lid to sip or else I get burned. But then at some point my consumption slows down and the last mug I made lingers for hours. In that case it might get cool enough to drink without unscrewing the lid. But you always have to unscrew it at least once just to make sure or else you might get burned. Can you tell I've already been burned a few times?Update 2: I sent some of my complaints about the luxury lid to the company and they replied: "The Luxury Slide Seal Lid is definitely a hit or miss with customers. While many love it, some other people do not like the design or how the mechanics work. The Flip Top Lid has a larger, round sipping hole that allows a person to insert a straw into it if they wanted, but also allows them to drink straight from it. It would be a better option if you find yourself pouring from the tumbler constantly. If you want, we can send you a Flip Top Lid free of charge." So that's super nice of them and also smart because it's a good idea to keep customers happy. I'll find out if I can sip hotter liquids with the flip top lid. Even if I can't, if it pours nicely then I can handle hotter liquids by pouring some off into a cup to let it cool which is easier than unscrewing the luxury lid.Update 3: Even when heat is not an issue, such as when drinking cold drinks or hot ones which have greatly cooled down, the "luxury" lid is still pretty bad because I usually can't drink from it without some liquid dribbling down my chin or down the side of the mug. Truly this lid must have been designed for its looks because it's not very good functionally.Update 4: I received the flip top lid and it's much better than the "luxury" lid but still flawed. It lacks a real lip so you can't pour from it without liquid dribbling down the side. It has a cheap feel and the hinge looks like it's not going to last that long. With the flip top lid, you can drink hotter liquids because you can sip a lot more slowly than you can with the deluxe lid but it's still not as good at this as other flip top lids I've used. At least I can drink without dribbling with the flip top lid, which I couldn't with the deluxe lid. I think this flip top lid too, like the deluxe lid, gives too much attention in its design to looks and not enough to functionality. The best way to drink from this mug is with no lid at all. With no lid you can sip the hottest liquids and you can pour without dribbling. I wish Lexo would develop a lid which preserves that functionality and I have a different mug which achieves it if they'd like to take a look.

Delivers on temp, too tall for keurig, weird lid
First I would like to start off by saying how excited I was to get this mug. I have been following different temperature regulating mugs for about three years before deciding to make the leap and purchase my first one, which is this beautiful, rose gold Lexo with luxury slide seal lid.The mug definitely delivers on its promise to absorb initial heat and lower the drink temperature to 140. My coffee brewed into the mug with my Keurig (slow stream) at 152 degrees F. After adding cream, the temperature was at 131 degrees F and my two-minute timer had gone off.Even at 131 degrees, it was hot when it hit my tongue. That's not the issue I have with this mug. The issue is the lid. This lid has the worst mouth feel of any tumbler I have ever used. It's thick and wide with a tiny spout, but it's very awkward to drink out of.The bigger issue is the height of the mug. It is too big for my keurig, even when removing the drip tray. I had to move my keurig to the edge of the counter and hold the mug in my hand as it slowly streamed into the mug. This was fine during an initial test today, but this is completely unfeasible when you are in a rush in the morning.Last but not least, I have a corkcicle mug I used for comparison. I left the lid off for two minutes, just like the lexo, and within two minutes, it was at 144 degrees. I also greatly prefer the dimensions and mouthful of the lid.I am so bummed as I was so excited for this mug to arrive.TL;DR: mug delivers on absorbing initial heat and is a beautiful design. The rose gold is gorgeous. However, does not fit under keurig and lid feels very awkward when trying to drink from it.***Update***I was initially going to return the mug, but I let my colleague try it and she LOVED the lid! Go figure! Must just be me. : )

Well constructed mug with a shoddy "luxury" lid (Edited 04/01/18)
Initial Post (03/02/18): I bought this product because I heard about the thermal cooling and heat retention technology that the mug had. I would say that this product delivers on what it is meant to do -- cool your coffee to a drinkable level and maintain it at that temperature for hours. I used to have a Contigo mug that was as durable as this; however, I wanted a travel mug that can give me near instant gratification sans the burnt tongue. The Lexo mug itself is well constructed; however, the "luxury" lid leaves a lot to be desired. I've heard that the original flip lid has issues which is why I opted with the "luxury" lid and that too had it's issues. The inside of the lid has crevices where residual coffee/cream can accumulate resulting in "sludge" forming in the inside. I found that using extremely hot water can help dislodge some of it. Although cleaning the lid was one of the reasons why I gave this product a low score, the primary reason was due to it's faulty construction. I was shocked when my "luxury" lid couldn't hold a seal any longer. Investigating the cause, I opened my mug and found a small rubber gasket floating in my coffee. Luckily I was holding it my hand since I usually put my travel mug in my bag along with my laptop and other belongings. With the amount of engineering and technology put into this travel mug I find it hard to believe that a lid can be its downfall.Current review as of 04/01/18:I arrived home a couple of days ago to two lids which I assume came from Thermavant customer service. One was a luxury lid model and the other was a simple lid model. I've since discarded my defective lid and have been using both the lids. So far so good and works as intended. I will continue to update based on the mugs overall performance.Note: Pictures below are of the defective lid and not the current ones I have.
