As the Seventies came into its own, the intrepid agents of the FBI saw the Cold War and the Culture War cool down, but the domestic war on crime starts to come to a boil. Whether its suburban salesmen roiling with self-loathing who plan the perfect crime (Bradford Dillman, naturally) and don't care who they cross in the process (an ice-cold Clu Gulager), crushed lumber merchants with a fail-proof kidnap cache (John Colicos), or syndicate-raised hit-men with the heart of an angel (Martin Sheen, redeemed by Meg Foster), the intrepid professionals of the bureau, Inspector Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.), Special Agent Colby (William Reynolds) and Assistant Director Ward (Philip Abbott) have the savvy and the science to bring them all to heel. Among the dupes and deceivers found in this 6-Disc, 26-Episode collection are the famed and the-soon-to-be including Lindsay Wagner, Mark Hamill, Dabney Coleman, Stefanie Powers and Vic Tayback.

From a time in our history that was the beginning of the 'law and order' period, this show helped to assure the country that the FBI was working diligently to protect us from the evils the 'sex, drugs and rock-and-roll (and espionage!)' of the 60's,. Of course, it would be several more years before we found out the truth about J. Edgar, and the lawlessness that was ACTUALLY going on within the agency itself at that time. But this show was a reminder that 'truth, justice and the American way' (ok, so that was actually from "Superman"...) would not be derailed; just when you've lost all hope, there was the FBI to make things right again!I've often wondered just how much liberty was taken between the actual cases that "inspired" each episode, and what the producers ended up making. If anyone knows of any list, for example, that correlates the episodes with the underlying case that the episode was based on, I'd love to know about it.As the seasons progress, the technical aspects of the show gets much better. There is ONE episode in Season 7 that had a weird sound mix: You heard people talking, but between dialogue, it was like the mic was cut off--NO background noises. Very noticeable.Finally....I LOVE looking at what are now vintage automobiles! When they say 'vehicles supplied by Ford Motor Co.', they MEAN it. The only time you see non-Ford vehicles, is on what looks like 'stock shots' taken at random. I'm not complaining, because I love seeing these cars in their pristine states. But it is noticeable.In summary....I hope Season 8 isn't long in coming!

Brought back childhood memories. I liked the way each episode is divided into 4 Acts and an Epilog.

What great wholesome entertainment
This is a “All region” DVD which is why I brought it, of true stories, It never uses the 'F' word so much other modern entertainment uses that makes me switch off as soon as it comes up. but all these episodes have me glued to the end.

This season of the F.B.I carries on the tradition of the first six seasons,as well as all the other Quin Martin produced shows of the era...Top notch stories,acting and production values....This show brings back great memories of my early youth.

Another Solid Season
I'm delighted to have an opportunity to catch up with this brilliant series over forty years after it was first shown. In Ireland, we never saw beyond midway through Season 4, so it's great to finally see all those episodes I missed.As usual, there's a wonderful line-up of guest stars featuring stalwarts like Andrew Prine, Ralph Meeker, Cameron Mitchell, John McIntire, Jeanette Nolan, Martin Sheen, Earl Holliman, Jim Davis, L Q Jones, David Canary, Diana Hyland, Wayne Rogers, and Dana Wynter. There's also a pre-Walton Richard Thomas as a very nasty college student.Highly recommended.

Enjoyed watching this series again after many years. One of the DVD's froze up several times during playback.
