Amazon same day delivery was amazing.
These water heaters do not have a long life - this was a replacement for a near identical (lower wattage) unit that lasted 4 years. A lot more than the 1 year warranty, but I would expect that 4 year life to be typical. As it was basically a swap-out installation was very easy. I did not need tech support which is why I gave that 3 stars. Efficiency on these tankless heaters has to be good as all the heat goes into the water (the case stays cool) and you only heat what you need.

Performs as promised.
This little (and I DO mean little) has been our studio for a bit over a month now, so I can't speak to durability. I can speak to ease of install and performance to date. Easy to put in after some replumbing and electrical work needed to accommodate the change from tank to tankless. My tenant loves the endless water, heats up rapidly and so far only a marginal effect on our electric bill.

Will not last, support is useless
Second unit. First unit lasted 14 months, second unnit lasted 7 months. Support says send the unit back, which is expected, but that would mean no hot hot water. No option for a new unit until they have the old unit.

A Hot Time In The Old Shower Tonight
My water heater started leaking and needed to be replaced. I decided to go with a tankless water heater in order to save money in the long run. After shopping around I noticed that tank type water heaters are more expensive to begin with. The cheapest one I could find in a brick and mortar store was a thirty gallon model for $300 plus tax making it $328.50.I went to my local Lowe's but they only had one model of tankless water heater available in store. It was a large capacity unit outside my budget. So I went with this brand after looking through several websites. When it arrived and I opened the box I was surprised at how small it is. Installing it was not too hard. I replaced the 30 amp breaker for the old water heater with the required 60 amp breaker. Connecting it to my water lines required a trip to the hardware store for some copper pipe and adapters. You must use copper pipe of 36" or more on the intake and outtake or void the warranty. The connectors on the heater use 1/2" compression fittings. The electrical hookups are the standard three wires. Because of it's small size I now have some extra space it the little closet I had the tank in.I ran the hot water side of my two faucets for five minutes then turned on the heater and set it to the maximum of 125 degrees. I then ran my kitchen faucet full hot. After about ten seconds the warm water started coming through. It never got hot but stayed warm. The readout on the heater was at 107 degrees. I thought "Well it will be ok but not great for a shower". I had other work to do and did not think about it until later that night when I went to take a shower.I ran it nearly full hot until it started to get warm, about 15 seconds, then stepped in. It took it only about another 10 seconds for it to get hot. I then turned it to full hot and it was so hot I almost could not stand it. I then realized I had installed a low flow shower head earlier this year. The faucet in the kitchen must have a higher flow rate and this heater was not able to keep up with it but the shower is not a problem.I don't mind the less than hot temperature from the kitchen faucet. If I had to do over again I would have went with the next size up S-14 14KW as it has the same electrical requirement and would not have cost much more after I paid for faster shipping with this one.If this heater last as long as my old tank type heater did (a little over 8 years) I'll be happy with it.

Understang how these water heaters work
I started looking into tankless water heaters a few years ago when I started to have problems with my tank water heater.I replaced the thermostats and all was well but I noticed a leak and knew it was a matter of time before I would have to replace it. I found this model on Amazon and it appeared to have some good reviews and a few not so good reviews. So I took the plunge and acquired the heater. There are some facts that aren't in the description as exactly how this device works. Sure, they give you charts on water temps for different areas of the country, flow rates for the heater, ect. I live in Tennessee and right now ( November ) the cold water temperature is 53 degrees. After installing the heater I set the temp on the controller to 110 degrees, turned on the hot water faucet in the bathroom, and it barely got warm. Somewhat disappointing, I reset the temp to 120 degrees on the controller and it got slightly warmer. So I got to looking at the chart again realizing that probably the water temperature of 53 degrees was too cold for the heater to operate efficiently. The was a solution to my problem, in my case we have a small home, one bath and the normal bathroom sink and a sink in the kitchen, was controlling the inlet cold water volume to the water heater. I reduced the water volume to about 2.5 gallons per minute, set the controller temp on the heater to 120 degrees F. Now the water temp out of the faucets approached 118 degrees. Mixing in cold water I can enjoy endless hot water in the shower, that is hot. Another small anomaly is turning off hot water for a small amount of time will cause the heater to stop heating and it will introduce cold water in the outlet until it heats the water again. So if you turn off the hot water in your shower, ect., you will feel the chill for a few seconds.....This is a great heater and was fairly easy to install. Installing the #6 wire was the hardest part. I recommend this heater if you have a small home. It works well and I am very pleased with it.-BoBc

It is a good tankless water heater.
I ordered this as a replacement. My previous electric tankless water heater destroyed itself in a fantastic display of electrical sparks (thankfully the fuse blew before it started a fire). This work well. It provides enough hot water to run 2 showers at the same time. It has an easy to read display and the settings are easy to adjust.Installation was quite difficult. I actually had to hire a plumber to install it.I have not had any problems with it, and I have been using it for over a year, so I have never contacted tech support. As a result, I have not idea if tech support is any good.I subtracted one star for installation. I am good at plumbing and electrical repairs and installment, but this was beyond my abilities and I needed a plumber.
