Mug Hugs (Cozy)

I bought this book as I was hoping for ideas to use up lots of oddments of wool and odd old buttons. It is great for this as the combinations of colours etc. is endless.This would also be a good book for anyone just starting out as a knitter as the projects are small so soon completed and also opens up lots of new stitches etc. for the beginner to try out.It has also solved a few presents for those 'hard to buy for' people. I simply buy a mug, fill with their favourite chocs add a mug hug to suit the personality and simply wrap in cellophane a tie with ribbon or in some cases a knitted tie to match the mug hug.

A great knitting book with some lovely patterns. I have knitted a couple already, which I am very pleased with. There is a good range of designs from very simple ones for beginners to more challenging ones for more experienced knitters. I have come across a couple of mistakes, but if you have knitted before these are fairly simple to sort out. I am looking forward to knitting more for Christmas presents.

I was hoping that this book would be easy to knit patterns and they are. I've been knitting for quite a few years now but i cant do cable and really complicated stuff. There was enough items in the book that I could manage and they really are quite brilliant. they dont need lots of wool and you can use these to use up oddments of wool you've already got. Some of my friends really liked these when I made them

This book appealed as the projects were small and seamingly easy. I'm not much of a knitter (usually manage a scarf and just knit and purl stitches - not following a pattern) but I thought I could easily follow these patterns. I love the fact that the main stitches are shown at the back of the book along with abbreviation descriptions.However I am finding that a couple of the patterns do not work as suggested. The Moss stitch pattern on 28 does not match the instructions for moss stitch on the techniques page of 128 - which is correct? I have no idea as I have tried both an neither give me the finished look as in the book.The same goes for the pattern on page 104, again the pattern for the sides of the mug hug do not give you a ribbed effect... as called for in the pattern so it is impossible to complete the design as shown unless you amend the instructions.Those minor problems aside, I love this book and have already completed several of them and look for more wool at every opportnity
