It is relatively easy to install
It is relatively easy to install. I added it to my kitchen door in a matter of minutes. However, the space between the two sensors is extremely tight as compared to my original system that I replaced. It works like a charm. The Ooma security system is far easier and more intuitive than my former paid alarm monitoring service. If the door is open, I am called on my home and cell phone. In addition, the app allows me to call 911 by press a single button.

Many Reviews Provide False Information
I purchased the Ooma security system that includes 2 key pads, 6 motion sensors, garage door sensor, 1 siren and a door sensor. The system installed and paired flawlessly. I have not had a single false alarm. This is very important, because many local police and sheriff departments charge a moderate false alarm fee. What I feel is misleading information by many reviews is that they were not aware or notified that after a complimentary 60 trial period there are subscription fees for various levels of alarm service. VERY TRANSPARENT AND DISCLOSED. For all the features that are available you can upgrade to a plan that offers many enhanced features and benefits to the base plan. For an example for $4.00 per month or $39.00 per year you can upgrade all the features that are available and included in the 60 day free trial. This system also offers you the option to add professional central station monitoring for an additional nominal fee. This fee is charged for an independent UL listed Central Monitoring Company. Total fees with or without Central Station Monitoring are an outstanding value. I have personally been employed by a state licensed alarm company that provided their own Central Station Monitoring. The system I purchased and installed from Ooma would cost a prospective customer over $4,500.00 plus a$40.00 per month Central Station Monitoring fee. A lease option would have a 48 month lease cost of about $300.00 per month with monitoring. When a customer purchases the Ooma Telo system their is also a 60 day free trial for Ooma Premium Service. At the end of the 60 day trial the customer can switch their Ooma Telo plan to a free service that is mandated to pass on regulated federal, state and local taxes and tariffs. Both Ooma Telo and the Alarm System is an OUTSTANDING value. The folks that are passing on inaccurate information are ignorant because all costs and upgrade fees are totally disclosed as soon as you download the app. Both Ooma and Amazon offer a 30 day free return option. If you don’t like the terms of service, please don’t complain after the fact. Just return the product and you will be given a full refund without restocking fees. In terms of Ooma Customer Service, I have been an Ooma subscriber for more than 15 years. If I ever had a question or needed tech support, an agent was always available to answer and address my needs or concerns. So when I read that Ooma has poor customer service and support, that has not been my experience in the past 15 years. Ooma is not a nonprofit organization. Ooma has outstanding line of products and services available for their customers Ooma provides you with options to upgrade or enhance their product and service. This is how Ooma can improve their product line and offer affordable prices for enhanced service options.

Awesome device! Why would you pay more!
I'm a new Ooma customer and I'm very pleased and surprised at the service Ooma has to offer. I'm the kind of person that is tight with my money and hate to pay for a "bleeding" service wasting my money away. The security aspect of Ooma is fairly new I believe and its off to a great start in my opinion. The main thing is that it is self monitoring so it will only tell you when a sensor is triggered. There is setting for away, home, and night time mode but you can also create you own if you like. My favorite part is that you can individually set each sensor to trigger certain alerts on how you want it to be configured. For example, I have a side door to the house that is very rarely used so I can set the alert to tell me when the door is opened in home mode verses the front door thats always used. I also like the interface of the app which is very easy to you and seems to be bug free. Its quick to respond and update a status if I'm at home or away. Each mode can be customize to be triggered at certain times of the day so when I'm gone to work it automatically switches to away and about the time I come home the app goes into home mode so I don't have to worry about switching it since my routine is regular but I can on the other hand quickly go in and switch it manually if need be. I did purchase cameras to be placed in and around the house (which also sends me alerts) so with Ooma I created a pretty decent security system I can monitor myself and be alerted quickly costing my only Ooma's $10 (plus taxes) primer service for security and home phone service in one. Not too bad in my opinion. The construction of the sensors are pretty solid and even have and tamper button on the sensor (Window/Door Sensor, not sure about the others) that will alert you if its been tampered with!Overall the service is great and I love it so far. I can see where this system has potential to grow. It would be nice to offer some kind of remote key pad for the alarm system to turn on and off as you leave instead of a phone. It would also be nice to see a siren option to add as well for certain alerts in certain modes. Overall, I would still recommend!

Easy to deploy, works great, but requires too much monitoring.
This sensor works great and is super easy to deploy. The entire Ooma security system is very easy to use and install. However, there are just too many settings. You can have it txt you, call you, push notify, or email you if the sensor goes off or even speak an alert through the Ooma base station, so that's 5 methods of notification .. then, there are different mode...Home, Away, Vacation.. the notifications can change depending on the mode, so for instance when you are home you can turn off the alerts so you dont' get a notice each time you open the front door when you know it's just you opening the door. So three modes, times 5 notification methods, times 10 sensors that i have in my house... that's ALOT of settings to manage and a lot of different and redundant messages.. it can get quite annoying. My phone is always going off due to the geofencing not working properly and it thinking i'm away when i'm home etc. Sometimes I just turn the whole thing off...

They Hard Sell Pay plans if sign up for FREE
Equipment works well for the most part. Except they hard sell pay plans of you get the free one. They will shut off your service and tell you that you owe money. Unfortunate.

Extremely Poor Customer Service From OOMA
THE Teleo reception was completely static, and there was a broken voice on the single call I received. I contacted OOMA and was told to purchase a LYNX device from them, which I did. After about three weeks, I finally received the LYNX, but the package was open, the seal broken, and the box ripped open. I again contacted OOMA and was told that I would receive a credit for the two months of service I had been billed and never had, I would receive a refund for the LYNX, including shipping, and a new LYNX would be sent out free of charge within 3-5 business days. I would also receive a cord to attach the wireless Teleo directly to my router. It all sounded good, but NONE of it materialized.I again contacted OOMA and was told they would process a refund for the two months of service and the LYNX, which I finally received. But they would not accept a return of the Teleo, the handset, and the unopened door sensor that I had purchased from Amazon. The return window on Amazon had already closed, but OOMA did not care. The supervisor said it was my problem, not theirs, and I needed to work it out with Amazon.Luckily, Amazon worked to find a resolution for me and has accepted a return of the items and a full refund, so thank you, Amazon. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this company at all. Do not purchase VoIP services from them; you will be disappointed and experience the worst customer service you can imagine.

So far, it seems good. Good to know = if you have an old model telo, to pair the sensor you have also to push the handset locator button (rear of telo) for three seconds.Jusqu`a present fonctionne bien. Note: Pour appairer le detecteur avec un ancien Telo, il faut aussi appuyez 3 secondes sur le bouton à l`arière du Telo.
