Make This Haunted House (Usborne Cut-out Models) Game – 31 Aug. 2007

There are lots of these cut out model books and they are very cleverly designed. This is one of the very best of all and has wonderful inside ghostly scenes. It's great for doing with a child (aged around 8 +) who is interested in modelling, a bit at a time over two - three weeks. Actually it's strangely very relaxing for an adult to do when there's nothing on the telly and you're fed up of playing around on the computer. It's only when you cut out the parts and fold and bend them into shape, you'll appreciate how wonderfully thought-out and designed this model is.

Nice little project for an Autumn rainy day. Smaller children will definitely require adult assistance in making this, although that's all part of the family fun. Sturdy enough on it's own for play, the base may be better if glued to something a little harder but it's the only quibble. My 7 year old and I had some good time together building it and she played with it for a number of weeks afterwards so quite good value for money.

These Usborne cut-out models are superb. They are relatively easy to build, provided you have a UHU glue, a good pair of scissors and (ideally) a craft knife.The end result is a very nice looking (and surprisingly robust) model.

I had one of these many,any years ago and l didn't ever finish building it. Thrilled to find the (almost) same product over 20 years later!

All in all this is a great time filler but be aware, some of the cut outs on certain pages do not line up exactly with one another so if you are a perfectionist I would imagine you would get a little frustrated with the end result!

Very nice indeed. I bought it for my 9 year old grandson, however it is not suitable for him to do alone, because of the fiddly cutting out with a craft knife. However he loved doing it with a grown up and was thrilled with the final result.

Hace casi 20 años, yo misma construí esta colección y buscaba esta casa encantada para hacerla con mi hija: tiene escondrijos, trampas.. es muy emocionante construirla porque los niños tienen ganas de ver como queda y se sienten muy satisfechos con su propio trabajo. Viene muy explicado, sólo hay que recortar, doblar y pegar.

This book is exactly what I was looking for to work on with my 6 year old son. I had to do all the cutting and most of the folding but he would glue it together. The book I received was sold to me used. One picture was cut out and to my relief it was an extra picture that had nothing to do with the structure itself, nor did it leave a gaping whole in the landscaping. Thank you to the seller!

lovely gift for summer vacation time pass for kids in the family

Very challenging. Only two pages of sparse directions for this whole thing! I made several mistakes and had to use cardboard to repair a couple areas. It was really fun to see every wall and ceiling covered with spooks and details. Look at the walls and roof and you will see more and more details everywhere. Tons of fun for me at 53 and it will be the same for the kids I am sure.Colored markers were used to add details.
