Very well designed; the birds took a few days to get the seed, but now they flock around it. Completely secure against squirrels, or any heavier creature.

At first the product seem to work well, squirrels were a bit baffled but then with continuous jumping on to the feeder part they managed to dislodge the feeder tube from the plastic screw and the whole bottom assembly fell to the floor with all the seeds.So I decided to glue the tube to the plastic screw and see what happens.I like the idea of this product and if what I have done fixes it then it’s a minority me problem. Manufactures are more than welcome to contact me.

Bought Jan now Oct and it has been brilliant at deterring squirrels. Yesterday spotted a squirrel upside down with head under the lid so assumed he was trying to get the lid off but then found that he had chewed through the plastic under the lid and the plastic body (tube) too. Have notified Jacobi Jayne via this platform so awaiting feedback and can advise later how well this issue dealt with. Expensive item but carries 5 year guarantee so hoping for a good result.UPDATE: DOWNGRADED TO 1 STAR. Have contacted Jacobi Jayne twice in past week and so far no response. Also checked their website and this item no-longer for sale so guessing I won't get replacement parts or any assistance. SO MUCH FOR GUARANTEE AND PEACE OF MIND?

I love this feeder. Since installing it and filling it with sunflower hearts we have daily goldfinches and green finches. Sometimes there is even a queue of various finches and tits in the tree waiting for their turn. Even the robin loves it. The squirrels are still trying 8 months on but are yet to crack it.I am planning on buying the suet one next.

Solid build quality, well calibrated and smooth spring mechanism which does seem to stop squirrel attack but it won't stop the wily old pigeon from flying up onto the top weather ring and then jumping off then when the spring opens the feeder the force throws seed out and onto the floor so that the pigeons can get it. This is fixable but I shouldn't have to do that.

I hoped this particular feeder would do the trick with numerous squirrels but sadly it does not live up to the claims. Within a few days they worked out that if they spread their back legs and gripped the feeder pole, they could just about reach the feeder where they quickly realised that they could put their front feet on the inner yellow plastic spring loaded seed compartment, thus stopping it closing off. They then stuck their heads in and scoffed the whole full feeder in two days. Nicely made but definitely not squirrel proof.

Important to fit the top properly but when locked the birds love it & it's quite entertaining to watch the squirrels hang upside down trying to access it, only to give up in defeat 😂
