Long Life Food Depot MRE Beef & Chicken Entrees Combo - 18 Pack

My box of 18 mre entrees was delivered yesterday i opened it tonight to find a surprise, i used the mre converter to establish the date of these, there is 2 dated 2009 thats 9 years old, i'm not happy about that at all, then there is 7 from 2012 4years old already, and 2 from 2013 3years old, the discription specificly shows all 2015 dates for each entree, then how can you give 9 year old and 4 year old entree's, i will not by from long term foods again i paid good money for old entree's!!!

Everything in the box tasted great with the understanding it was boiled in a bag. That statement is not an insult in any way, shape, or form. You get a box full of shelf stable pre-cooked food at a reasonable price. In this box, you can come home late from work and dig through the bags and find something that you probably are hungry for but don't want to put the time into making.I have come to find the best way to prepare these are to pick what you want to eat, throw it in a pot of water on the stove, wait, after some boiling remove the food at wait until it is at a palatable temperature. It is really difficult to reheat these incorrectly in boiling water. If it gets too hot, don't open the pack until it is at a reasonable temperature.All of the menues in the pack were, while not gourmet, very tasty. Keep in mind I'm rating this at a fast food level. This is literally throwing a sealed bag in boiling water, wait, enjoy. I do recommend crackers and hot sauce to accompany each of the menus if available.As far as presentation, it's a box full of brown packages. No, that isn't a great presentation. Also, presentation is not expected. After heated and put into a bowl, it all looks good.Overall value is great. Good tasting, shelf stable food that is easily prepared is awesome. If purchasing for day to day quick lunch or meals, hiking, or survival food, you should not be disappointed while chowing down on these.

These MRE's are the bottom of the barrel as far as MRE's go. I've had some excellent tasting ones and these arent close..... even a little. I tried 3 otherwise I would return them. All 3 of the meats I tried had nothing but pure fat & gristle. Do not buy

So good! I'm a little weird in that I like MREs. I use them a lot when I go camping and at work when I can't go to lunch I just heat one of these up and booyah lunch is served. These do no come with heaters. Don't expect to see them with heaters because it even says it in the description that there are none. The entrees are Beef Stew(delicious) Chicken Burrito Bowl(not bad) Spaghetti with Meat Sauce(super yum). Yes there is a ton of sodium. I would not really rely on these alone for the healthiest of diets but it has enough calories and carbohydrates and fat to fill you up and keep you going. It has everything you need to be filled and have energy. Very hearty entree. Like I said I'm unusual because to me they are good. The spaghetti tastes like the stuff in the can, it's good. For camping they are just the best idea. Super easy to heat up in boiling water and doesn't take long at all, takes longer to heat the water than the entree. I like these entrees and will buy again when I'm out. Price is ok but wish they cost a bit less but whatever I'll keep buying them and eating them. Still have a few years until expiration so very pleased with the freshness. 5 stars all the way around.

Half of these are 2012 and the rest are 2013~2015 + one or two 2018s. MREs are supposed to last indefinitely in cool storage so I'm not complaining about extra 2 years (on top of the best-by 5 years). But it's only because I can't taste the difference between a cow that died when Obama was president and the one died this year (if there is any, anyway).

I have tried to purchase at least one box per month for several months. With military crackers I was able to get some time ago, I also purchased MRE bags of cheese, jelly etc. and am putting my version of an MRE together. The price is very reasonable, considering what others are charging for even fewer entres. I highly recommend these.

Box arrived today and wasn't due until between 03/05 - 03/20 the beef brisket was awesome! ( I always inspect every MRE and eat one when I get them!

So first thing, I did not receive what was in the description! Not those flavors and not those quantities!But I’ll keep what I got after all it’s for camping or escaping Covid zombies.I am writing to say how amazed I am of the flavor. I’ve tried different meals from different brands with not much luck. Now I’ve only had this “Mexican chicken stew” and as I’m currently eating it, it’s great!Good sauce, fresh tasting chicken, mixed veg is like canned beef stew.I boiled a pot on the stove and placed the sealed bag in under cover for just a couple minutes, let rest in water and poured into bowl.My 6 year old son even liked it.Hope the other flavors in this mystery pack are just as good.Next stop the mountains, Governors be dammed!
