good support
update 6/4/19: the wifi bridge has a really chep plug on it that will break very easily. There is no replacement on their website. The white thing that floats in the pool sometimes get sucked into the skimmer and yes there is a weir door there... at $99 year subscription after you buy it ... just not sure if it is worth it especially seeing how cheaply made this wifi bridge is !update 6/14/19: Phin support happily supplied me a new bridge and a fresh floater since the battery was dying out.. so very pleased with that... thanks phinSo far so bad... I was expecting full readings instead it just says add this too much that..etc... I want to know the reading of my ph and chlorine not just the advice of going up or down. The unit kept telling me to add Ph which I did and nothing seemed to help... so I broke out my trusty Taylor chemical pool kit tester and discovered I was way too high and needed to come down not up on the Ph.. the Phin was backwards! I am going to use my Taylor to be sure I'm balanced out and if the Phin continues to be wrong this thing is going back! my emails to support go unanswered as well.update: 11/22/17 Phin sent me a replacement unit this one is not yelling at me to add Ph even though I do not need it. The app still needs to take my pool measurements into account and do the math of how much of what to add but it doesn't they expect you to use their stuff which is in pods... I recommend using a pool doctor type app for the calculations since their app will not tell you even though they could...There are no direct readings just a bar graph type thing...Another thing it does which is cool is you can get your pool readings from anywhere not just your local wifi it talks to your Phin acct and you can get your pool info from cell connection... I didn't know that..So I upt it a few stars for the ' cool ' factor ... hopefully it will match close to my Taylor kit and not lead me astray ... I mainly got it so I know when the pool needs attention . If your thinking of getting one of these be sure to have a real test kit handy to validate its findings I also suggest your pool be fully balanced before putting it in and activating the unit so you have a clear baseline to start.

Nice for Busy People w/o a Chemistry Degree (Hot Tub version)
Overall pHin gives me a nice picture of what is needed and what will be needed which is presented very clearly and efficiently in the app. If you plan to use your own chemicals, a recent app update now organizes store bought chemicals in the 5 key headings where previously the app was having a hard time recognizing some of my very standard Leisure Time chemicals. Initially it did seem pHin was making it a little more difficult to use store bought over their service but I'm less convinced of that now. The only reason we did not go with the subscription is because the cost seemed pretty high for a year; however, this is our first tub and I am tracking the cost of store bought this year since it does seem like a nice service! At a cost of $400/yr over the standard "monitoring only" option it seems pHin could do a better job detailing how the subscription works. From what I'm seeing in my chemical use (8 months now), it might be best to have more of a tiered systems or quarterly subscription because I'm not sure I will be using $400 worth of chemicals? The chart is super handy to see where you are with pH and Sanitizer measured at what seems to be measured every 1/2 to 1 hour. It is a nice guide to see where things are trending but for those data geeks out there you are just looking at the big picture (1 week) versus being able to zoom into a 24 or 48 hr period to see the finer details (be sure to read why pHin does not show actual sanitizer numbers and all other startup docs). The "Water Report" shows your last test strip, another nice workflow but it would be nice to see all the parameters plotted versus just Hardness and Total Alkalinity to get a better understanding, digitally, of your input water (mine is well water) which would help in establishing a bromine reserve up front. This took me a while to figure out but if you could scan a test strip and see all the results this might improve the refill adjustments. Overall, we are very pleased with pHin. We've had an amazing experience with support when spinning up and they seem eager to keep updating the technology and app. Would give a 5 but I think there is slight room for improvement which I think is coming.

amazing when it works
I cannot live without this. It's made our swim spa maintenance so easy. For some reason, it keeps going offline and behaving wonky. When this happened the first time, the company sent us a new one. Excellent customer service. It has stopped working again and I'm not sure how to inform the company of this?

Horrible waste of money unfortunately
Huge waste of money. We bought this so we could monitor our cottage hot tub when we aren’t there and it is always disconnecting. Sometimes it’s disxonnected for a week or two. We have a lot of nest products that work beautifully so we k ow it’s not an internet issue. Also, you’re supposed to be able to scan products and it should be able to tell you how much to add to increase/decrease Ph etc but we have yet to find a line of chemicals that the program recognizes. We’ve tried Canadian tire, wall mart, beachcomber and Home Depot. Every time the app says that it does not have the information. I loved the ide of this monitor and I really wanted it to work. We are so disappointed and what a waste of money!!!Lastly, the app will ask you to dip a test strip and scan it in (I think someone on the other end manually reads the results of the strip) but unfortunately the app can’t scan the strip (using iPhone X).

100$ par année bien investi
L’eau du spa est toujours belle et bien équilibrée grave a phin. Très bon produit pour se facilité la vie avec le ph et le chlore ainsi que pour lire les bandelettes.
