Well they can't. The kids love this and works like a charm. It sets up in seconds, literally, and they are off. All it takes is hitting the blue tooth button on your phone then turning the microphone on. It'll pop up on your phone and once you click connect it's done! I can control it from my phone in one room while the kids play in another room.

This mic is very easy for a toddler to use. It's got a decent battery life and the sound quality is good.
