Magic in the Middle Ages
T**J
A valuable update to a seminal work
Dr. Kieckhefer conducts an in-depth exploration of magical beliefs and practices in the Middle Ages, providing fascinating insights into the era's history and everyday life. He examines the subject from many different angles, including magic in courtly culture and legal persecution of practitioners. Even if you've read earlier editions, new sections on topics such as angel magic make this edition worth checking out. While Dr. Kieckhefer's approach is academic, his writing is accessible enough to make this a compelling read, even if (like me) you have no academic background. Highly recommended for anyone interested in medieval history. Or anyone just looking for a good read.
