This is an incredibly intense game that is being played. Not sure of the plot. It’s complicated but so very mysterious. Erotic love scenes.

The brilliance of making the reader experience it - and Dario - through Sara's eyes lends a brutal tension to the plot. The interplay between Dario and Sara that is nothing short of emotional alchemy. Dario is callous and savage, flirting with gratuitous violence, but never stepping over the line to monstrous. Gritty and raw, it grabs you by the throat, but there's an undercurrent of tenderness amidst all the steam that sneaks up like a sucker punch!!!I can't wait to ride out the rest of this redemption arc.#OneHandedOneClick#TopReadof2021.

Another intense start to a trilogy which will blow your socks off. Written with her characteristic style and intelligence, each word acts to paint a picture of a woman brainwashed into compliance, but who has a fire waiting to be ignited. CD Reiss has created a society within a society. One which is secretive, corrupt and misogynistic in the extreme. Dario's plans for revenge centre on Sarah. To degrade, punish, intimidate and rule, another form of oppression and manipulation, all presented in images and well chosen words which leave me breathless. There is no flinching from the situations described and I could not stop reading until that very last word of the gut punch of a cliffhanger. Cannot wait for more. Another treat in store from this gifted writer whose every book I look forward to knowing I will be reading quality.💖💖💖💖💖

All I can say is in the begining I'm thinking your a prick and your pretty vacant ... not sure if I could get invested...but damn... now I'm upset for her and rooting for him so lets see what make me brings 🤞

It’s really really good. The only reason I held back from giving it a full 5 star rating was because I kept getting confused by the family background. Call me silly but I just don’t get it. Otherwise, this book has quite the intrigue and plenty of drama. The dynamic between Dario and Sarah is a bit ironic. She is being held by one family of lies, then captured by another. Their passion has some sadistic starts to it but turns rather hot and dominant. Can’t wait to see how this progresses in book 2.
