Rik Emmett and his new band, RESolution9 will release RES 9 on November 11, 2016 via Mascot Label Group/Provogue. Much of the album was recorded and mixed at the famed MetalWorks Studios, where Rik re-connected to his own roots. In fact, the other two founding members of Triumph (Gil Moore and Mike Levine) reunite with Rik as special guests on "The Grand Parade", a song that conjures 1979's "Suitcase Blues". Additionally, legendary guitarist Alex Lifeson of Rush performs on two stellar tracks, with James LaBrie of Dream Theater contributing extraordinary guest vocals on two cuts

One of the best cd's I own.
This is not another Triumph album. I listened to Triumph as a teenager (yeah, I'm old). In my opinion, this new cd is as good, or better, than the old Triumph recordings. If you're looking for another Triumph album, you may be disappointed, but if you like great music, this is it. It has a definite rock overtone which I like.I started listening to music in the late 70's and I have mountains of albums and cds. I would rate this cd as one of the best that I own.Rik Emmett has done some jazz, classical, etc. recordings that are OK, but not my cup of tea. Just not my type of music Although I'm getting older, I still like good rock music. The RES 9 recording hits the spot.I've taken some time to listen to You Tube interviews with Rik Emmett and he's quite a guy. He's not a washed up Rock star trying to make it big again. He's doing his own thing and having fun with it.

Rik Emmett still ROCKS!!!
Rik Emmett still ROCKS!!! I have previewed this album prior to release and I think anyone who likes melodic rock with a positive message will enjoy this album. I love that it includes Alex Lifeson, James LaBrie and even a re-union with his Triumph bandmates, Gil Moore and Mike Levine Still hoping to see a Triumph re-union album and tour....Don't pass on this album!

Multiple great, grammy winning songs here
What an incredible album!! Multiple great, grammy winning songs here. I really love the first two - Stand Still and Human Race; however, I am EXTREMELY disappointed that there is only one song with Rik's former Triumph band mates, but even more disappointed that it was the up-lifting 80's classic rock with the lows and crescendo building sounds.Over all, great, and I've already listened to it a half dozen times since I bought it xmas day.

Really good CD. Rik is a fine songwriter
Really good CD. Rik is a fine songwriter, so I don't want to say I'm surprised. I like the flow and the variety of blues based songs found here. Just when you are already satisfied with your purchase, Rik hits you with "Heads Up", "Rest of my Life" and "End of the Line" which features Alex Lifeson, another top level pro player as we all know; also featuring Alex Lifeson, the tune "Human Race" and my favorite track on this CD. Of course, the playing by all involved is top notch, no surprise there. Money very well spent!

Great Solo Album - Rik Still Has It.
Besides this being a great record. Consider - it's the only record to feature members of Dream Theater, Rush, and Triumph. Added bonus is that the last track doesn't only 'feature' members of Triumph. It's only the members of Triumph. Effectively playing their last song together. A nice bookend to them, and probably Rik's solo career.

Superb album. With every song, Rik Emmett hits it out of the park. A blend of different styles, some rocking, some bluesy, some a little more elegant. It all works beautifully. Definitely one of the best albums of the past year or so.

Just a fantastic album from beginning to end
Just a fantastic album from beginning to end. The guitar work is amazing as always so adding Alex Lifeson into the fray just makes it even better. Rik Emmett is an amazing songwriter, singer, and world class guitarist. I still can't decide my favorite song. AA++
