100 Disposable Egg Poachers by Poachies

For the first time, I’ve made perfect poached eggs!Using the package directions and a few modifications to the technique, I’m delighted to have succeeded, after being accustomed to failure. When cooking eggs for eating, I crack them into a bowl first to be sure they’re without breakage. So I setup up 2 bowls, and 2 cups with the Poachies. After breaking the eggs I gently transferred each one from the bowls to the Poachies standing in separate cups. There’s a note towards the bottom of the Poachies package about hot water on the Poachies when cooking less than fresh eggs, and though the eggs were fresh, I added that step. The rest was exactly as directed, aside for cooking time, in consideration for the size of the eggs. There were a few bits floating in the cooking water, but far less than using the vortex method, and not anything I’d categorize as waste. There are extra steps and washing in my process, but the eggs are flawless.I recommend these for anyone who appreciates poached eggs and would like to avoid the trial and error with other cooking methods.

Yes I can make a poached egg without these pouches but the amount of effort saved using them far outweighs the cost. If you struggle making poached eggs then these are a godsend and turn out picture perfect eggs every time, really.

They are certainly simple to use. Poached eggs with training wheels.I tried them out alongside another egg in the water. When the other egg was fully cooked, they were still a little too soft. Fine, since I was putting them over a rice combination.They captured much more of the loose egg white. Next time I cooked them a little longer, and I enjoyed a fully poached egg, with much more of the egg white, with the yolk still plenty runny.

Using these has been the first time that I can make poached eggs easily and well. Before I had to go to a restaurant. I'm happy.

Although I like the idea of paper vs silicone, when I drop a cracked egg into the Poachies as directed, the albumin leaks through the bag. There’s actually a little bit or more sometimes that seeps out of the bag into the cup (creating waste of the egg). Also it seems to not close well in boiling water, also losing more egg white into the cooking water. Perhaps it’s because I use a small pot for this part. But I try not to use an oversized pot for one egg, wasting more water. Sometime to consider.

I love these poaching bags, they make a perfect poach egg every time. So glad I could get them in Canada.

Meine Frau und ich mögen Eggs Benedict sehr gerne. Zum Beispiel für ein gemütliches Sonntagsfrühstück mit Cremant oder einem anderen Schaumwein. Die Erfolgsquote ob die Eier schön pochiert waren oder nichtging tendenziell in den negativen Bereich. Mit der Zeit war das frustrierend und ich wollte eigentlich keine Eggs Benedict mehr machen. Dann überlegte ich, wie machen die das in der Gastronomie, die haben bestimmt irgendwelche Helferlein. Ich fand dann diverse Formen, die mich aber nicht wirklich überzeugt haben. Dann stieß ich auf die Poachies und was soll ich sagen, es funktioniert super. Klare Kaufempfehlung auch wenn man eine feste Menge abnehmen muss, damit die aus England hergeschickt werden. Hat sich aber mehr als gelohnt. Das Material ist wie ein Teefilter, nur ein bisschen fester und kann nach Gebrauch in den Kompost.
