Don't buy this for sciatica - it squishes almost completely flat
This knee pillow is nice and cuddly soft, so if you want something --anything-- to keep your knees from touching at night, then this will do okay (although, so would a regular pillow, if you have an old one lying around). But if you actually want something to keep your hips more in alignment, pass on this because it squishes down next to nothing. Even the sides squish down to maybe a little under an inch after a couple of minutes. One night I even rolled over on the whole pillow and didn't notice because of how much it flattens. But it's soft and a little less bulky than the pillow I was using. Considering how much I toss and turn, this is just a little easier to keep retrieving than the pillow. I'll use it until my leg starts to hurt again and then probably try one of the other brands of sciatica pillows. It did smell for a couple of days after opening.

Works much better than a normal pillow
It seems to help with my current back issues I have been going to physical therapy to address. I can normally keep it in place while rolling from side to side which is a big plus and only have occasional issues with it popping out on the bed if I happen to sleep on my stomach or back. I find it comfortable and is nice and cool all night which really helps as opposed to a regular pillow I was using. I would purchase this again. Very nice product.A follow up 6/5/2017: Cover does not remove easily and the zipper popped its seams at one end trying to squeeze this cover off the inside material. Hopefully the zipper will hold up under the cover getting put back on after laundering. The zipper still seems to work and will hopefully hold once it is back on the pillow. I took away one star for this as it was extremely hard to get the cover off.

It helps, but needs improvement
This has helped greatly with knee and hip pain I've been having recently but it does tend to make me hot while sleeping. I rated it 3 stars because of that and the fact that I feel like it could be a little thicker. At first it wasn't too bad & seemed thick enough, it was enough space between my knees but the more you use it the more flat it seems to become & I've only been using mine for about 2 months now. When I use this I have it on my thighs but just above my knees while I sleep and now my knees actually rest against each other. I love that it's helped me get rid of the aches and pains I had but the product has a lot of room for improvement.

It Works!!! Beware of cover.
Follow up to my original review. The product works great, but the cover shrank in the dryer and WILL NOT go back on the pillow. Very disappointed...must now buy a different brand of pillow! BEWARE!I'd been having pain in my right hip from sleeping on my left side. My wife (fitness trainer) suggested a pillow to straighten my spine & right leg angle. I thought I'd try the Panacea knee pillow. Well, after 4 nights, my right hip pain was gone. Thanked my wife (of course) and also thank Panacea for making a great product. It's small, light and, after a couple of nights, you hardly notice it. Highly recommend!!!

Sprained Medial Ligament in Knee: This helped
I pulled a knee ligament dancing. Hey, I'm over 55 and was dancing like I was 25. It has been very sore, and it was keeping me awake. This little pillow helped me sleep comfortably. It is also handy to prop up one arm while playing video games in bed. :-PThe only bad thing is that I tend to leave it under the covers when I get up early and then the lump scares me when I come back to get dressed.

The pillow itself has a great consistency and the cover has a nice feel to it. Now the problems: 1) the cover opening is quite narrow. You have to squeeze the pillow as you push it back into the opening. Once you let go -- to squeeze in a different spot -- the pillow returns to its original size. The original size is at least 2x the opening size of the pillow case. This places an inordinate stretch or pressure on the seams that hold the zipper, and 2) after washing the pillow case and using the lowest setting on the dryer maybe 5 times, the pillow case seam ripped open. The rip was slight but upon closing the zipper, the slider came off. Now there is no way of taking off the case w/o separating the teeth whereupon there is no way of putting Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Not the right product for me
I've dealt with intense sciatica for upwards of a decade now (broken cocyx, dislocated sacrum, and two herniated discs in my lower back from a bad snowboarding accident on ice). I've been sleeping with a pillow between my legs for many years and now, it's the only way I can sleep. I decided to buy this product because I figured if a normal pillow helped, a pillow designed for this exact purpose would be even better.Unfortunately, after a few nights sleeping with this, my sciatica is flared up much worse than before. I feel it's because it only provides support in a small space (from the knee to halway up my inner thigh, im 6' 4") and it moves around as you sleep (from knee to groin area). As the pillow moves around, so does the vertebrate supported by it.I went to return it but there are no returns on this product :(.For me, this product is a one star as far as helpfulness and relief- the reason I bought it. However, it is well constructed, the material is comfortable, and for the right person (maybe someone shorter, and with more mild sciatica) this could be a helpful product

Design Flaw
Even though I love the soft cover, removing and replacing the cover is a pain. The zipper is installed in the width instead of the length so stuffing a foam pillow into that small space is painful; nails will break and the zipper will scratch your hand. Last week, when I was replacing the washed cover, the zipper ending flew off so this week, I had to tear the cover off the pillow and throw it away. It's too bad because the softness of the pillow cover is wonderful. Place change your design and install the zipper the long way of the pillow so the opening is bigger and the insertion of the pillow is easier.
