I've been INK'd and I can't wait for more!
Ink.Whether you're a book buff or a skin graffiti aficionado, that word evokes depths to me. I feel the texture of the paper, the vibrant infusions of color in a delicate floral pattern across a shoulder. I smell the deliciousness of old paper and leather, and see the masculine forearm of a hot guy.Ink, in general, is a word that "evokes" for me. This book had the same effect. The story, woven through the perspectives of Emmie and Ox, gives us the chance to see a developing attraction from two perspectives. It's the entrepreneurial spirit of starting up something new and totally different - doing something that you can't undo. It's the bravery of striking out on your own, in spite of your doubts and the doubts of others. This second foray into contemporary romance kept my attention from the first words. Emmie is such a relatable character - she's insecure without being whiny and self-deprecating without being exhausting. Ox is at that difficult point in life many of us experience where we battle doing for those we love - and doing for ourselves. He's kind and flawed and really needs someone to lead him.The secondary characters are DELIGHTFUL. I genuinely hope Ms. Hunter treats us to a full series starring this array, because they make you want to wander Metlin and check out every shop on Main.I have been a fan of EH's since the first book of hers I read, and this is a completely different direction without losing the depth of description and lovable cast. She knows how to wind us in and take us to the goal line. This book does not have the intense climax or dramatic tendrils of her paranormal novels, but I think that is the point. It's romantic and spicy, but you can read it and put it down feeling satisfied.Looking for a great read you'll want to inhale in one sitting? One-click. =)

4.5 Amazing Stars!
4.5 Stars! When I read the blurb for Elizabeth Hunter's Ink: A Love Story on 7th and Main I could not get my hands on this fast enough. I absolutely love tattoo parlor and opposite attract novels as there is something so refreshing about two different people coming together who may not (at first glance) have alot in common but through HOT chemistry, kindness and friendship they eventually get together. I loved Emmie and Ox. He was so sexy and refreshing. I loved the Old town feel of Metlin and could not get enough of Emmie, Ox and the entire cast of characters!Emmie Elliot is back in her small hometown of Metlin, California and is about to make the drastic decision of keeping and re-opening her Grandmother's bookstore and relocating her life. What she needs though is a hook for mass appeal. Enter Miles "Ox" Oxford - tattoo artist extraordinaire looking to run his own tattoo shop. But will Emmie be able to partner with this sexy AF mountain of a man without climbing him like a tree? Or will their business arrangement remain strictly platonic without any fun between the lines?I really really loved this book. Any story about a diehard booklover with witty bookism t-shirts is a soul-sister at heart and my kind of heroine. Emmie was fun, sassy and full of hidden facets I loved discovering as we learned more about her. This story was the most perfect low-angst , compelling love story. I loved the slowburn-esque feel and the strong friendships and connections throughout the book. It was a great feel good romance and I am definitely invested in more love stories on 7th and Main in the future! Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

Hard to rate, 3.7?
I wrestled with rating this book. Hunter is one of my top five authors, but I avoid buying a book if I can read it on library ebooks or Kindle Unlimited. I’m retired and read a lot.I make exceptions for several authors, Hunter being one. That’s one reason I’m a bit disappointed with INK.Pros: cool town, great friend support and characters, bookshop being rebranded with love. Emmie is an interesting character who shows her bookstore knowledge and ability to learn and grow. I liked the addition of her relationship with Spike and her growing tattoo that was secret.Cons: Ox’s lack of communication skills. He really loves his family and wants to support them, he needs to step up and talk to Emmie and his family, big discussions. Emmie, too, should have been better about getting in touch with him. Somehow I missed why she was emotionally vulnerable, her mom?Another con for me is that it’s a straight contemporary romance. I love the paranormal romances Hunter writes. The IRIN series is a top example. Better character development and better story lines, more interesting because it’s a life I will never live.

Amazing book!!
Oh my gosh!!! I Love this book!! Emmie and Ox have such chemistry together, I truly fell in love with them both. I love the small town dynamics and lifelong friendships. There were so many different emotions going on, I was laughing one minute and wiping tears away the next. This was another amazing book by Elizabeth Hunter and I can't wait for more from Emmie and Ox after all what's better than books and tattoos.

A wonderful heart warming read
As a long time fan of everything Elizabeth Hunter writes I've had this sat on my kindle for far too long. Having long not been in the mood for going outside the paranormal genre that I normally stick to, I found myself in the world's lockdown looking for something more wholesome and comforting to read and right now I am very glad I left it until now to read! Absolutely perfect in every way. I totally fell for Emi and Ox, both utterly wonderful and alive off the page, their chemistry and dynamic was real, exciting and utterly heart warming. I know I will be back to read this again and again when I need something comforting and enjoyable to read. As always the quality of everything this author puts to the page stands head and shoulders above much else.

Slow burn, small town love story. Fab!
It's been far too long since I read an Elizabeth Hunter book! Although this is contemporary and not the vampires I've been more used to, I really enjoyed Ink.It was a sweet, small town, opposites attract, business partners who make a pact to keep it strictly business romance, but hah, with the slow burn, sizzling chemistry between book worm Emmie and tattooed rule breaker artist Ox, will they their attraction make or break them and their new business?I really enjoyed this, it was easy to read, had humour, a little drama and packed some romantic heat. A few great side characters I'm looking forward to reading about too.4.25 stars

A Good short story
INK: is very different from any book I've read by Elizabeth Hunter but I really enjoyed it, it's a believable love story in a book shop with a difference ( I think this would be my ideal bookshop) Elizabeth Hunter has always been a great romance writer but usually in the paranormal world. This book can be read on it's own or there are two more books in the series that continues on with other characters introduced in INK:. Definitely worth the read.

I loved the concept from the start
I loved the concept from the start, but reading it brought it alive beautifully. These are characters that you can see living their lives down the road from you and that makes them lovable and relatable. The story felt real and that is awesome.Early on I wondered a bit if it was going to keep my interest as I wasn't sure about the challenges set up for the main characters and the start felt a bit like setting up more book possibilities rather than getting into the present story. This did not last long and I was sucked back in, enjoying the main and side characters so much that I hope there will be more. One I will want to read again and again when the mood strikes. I am now pondering tattoos again (had put it off a while) and wish I had Emmie's T-shirt selection. They sound amazing!

Another fantastic read
I'm a huge fan of Elizabeth Hunter's Supernatural themed books. I'd go as far as to say she's my favourite author. Because of this, I had to give Ink a try. I was dubious because it's a romance and not of a similar theme to most of her other books but she did not disappoint. I've never known an author create chemistry between characters like Hunter and she has done it again here, and not just between the main characters, Emmie and Ox. The web of relationships in this book is intriguing and so natural. The story is lovely and just made me smile, a lot. I'm hoping that there will be more like this from Hunter! I was so impressed with this that I bought (and read in less than 24 hours) her other romance novel, The Genius and the Muse. It turns out that was just as good Elizabeth Hunter is an amazingly talented writer!
