So you are supposed to be able to use the top piece for punching the holes in your fabric for the eyelet but mine broke after only a few tries and wouldn't even punch that great of holes into the fabric. Other than that the eyelets are standard eyelets with nothing fancy going on and the plier piece to set the eyelets works well.

Got this to add rivets to a few belts to reduce damage long term from presure from the prongs. The device works well, and the rivets shipped with it are reasonable for thinner dress belts and canvas. For thicker belts, you'll want better rivets, but the tool itself works with several styles and brands of rivets available at most craft stores.

I bought these awhile back for a project that didn't end up working out (didn't need the eyelets after all). I kept them, as I figured they could come in handy for a different project at a later time.The later time came this evening and these pliers performed poorly. The part that is supposed to cut couldn't even cut through an inexpensive sheet. It did succeed in tearing the fabric, leaving a hole far too big for the eyelet, that now requires repair. On the plus side, the eyelet part seems to work, but requires more pressure than my small hands can handle. Wish I had tried them during the return window.

Second time purchasing. Purchased just for the eyelets because I couldn’t find any other gold eyelets of this size. Already have a punch plier. Now I have 2.

This combination punch/grommet setter turned out to be more useful than several other more expensive tools I bought for working with grommets. Not sure how long the punch is going to stay sharp, but so far it works great. 3/16" grommets and eyelets set reliably, evenly, and firmly with a squeeze of the pliers.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that it only works on one size of grommets.The business parts of the jaws look like they unscrew, so it should be possible to replace them with dies for different size grommets -- but the tool only comes with one set, and I didn't see any other size dies sold separately. If they put this tool into a kit with maybe 4 or 5 sets of different size dies, it would be awesome, and 5-star for sure.

Great tool. I love the fact that it has the hole-punch feature, as many grommet tools don’t.
