WHITE (clear), the preferred Camphor version
I waited a long time to receive this Camphor Oil, but I'm glad I opted to do so ... I had been doing some research in the meantime, and the best form of camphor oil is considered the "white", which is clear or milky. Any other colors include compounds that render them not truly safe for topical use (at least according to the Dr. Axe website, which I usually consult for information about various new products or formulas I wish to try). The bottle is good quality glass in a desirable dark amber brown. Upon opening, I am impressed with the aroma of the oil because it smells very similar to the Vick's Vapor Rub my mother used on us while we were growing up years ago. The other standard components of the Vick's gel were menthol and eucalyptus (the latter of which I also keep on hand). I'm going to be curious to see if this will additionally help my husband with his allergies in Spring so he can avoid taking as much Benadryl. This is my first time ordering anything from this company, and while the generous 4 oz size of many of their essential oils seems too reasonable to be effective therapeutic quality (depending on plant type), this is a good start for me. The Camphor oil has many potentially useful benefits. I'm rating it 5 starts on good faith since we haven't incorporated it yet, but I would update later if any particular problems develop with use. I'm also pleased that the best buy date is clearly stamped on the bottle shoulder, in which my case is November of 2026. The remainder of the label information is also clear and thorough enough for the product at this point.

Distinctive
A good long-lasting. I am very happy with it. That being said, I should mention something about the aroma. It is NOT the same cinnamon (red hots) scent that I usually get. This one is more of an earthy and natural scent. While it is not what I intended........I will definitely be buying more of this unique scent.

A lovely, warm Ginger Essential Oil!
Scent: Ginger Essential Oil, 30ml/1fl ounce, Therapeudic GradeBrooklyn Botany never disappoints! All of their oils are in amber glass bottles, tightly capped, and most come with an alternate dropper cap. (This one didn't.)This is a very nice essential oil that really enhances spicy diffuser oil blends-- it plays very nicely with cinnamon, clove, and vanilla oils (I even made a blend with black pepper essential oil, just to see what I'd end up with-- it was interesting, but very nice). It also added a nice kick to citrus or "tropical" blends. I'm considering trying it added to a body lotion or massage oil after I see how it does on my skin when diluted in a carrier oil. I found that it added an exotic note of "warmth" to my diffuser blends and I really liked the results. Used alone, the scent doesn't last as long as some others, but in a blend it's still nicely scenting the air after 5 hours in my diffuser (this included a water addition, but without adding more of the oil blend).Ginger Essential Oil is a bit like Clove, Tea Trea, and Eucalyptus essential oils: it can smell very medicinal and antiseptic depending on the strength, manufacturer, country of origin,, distillation process, etc. so that has to be taken into consideration when using it in diffuser, oil, and lotion blends. It might also work well in a soap if used in a very small amount. In a lotion or massage oil, it definitely warms up on the skin. The price is a little higher than some of Brooklyn Botany's other Essential Oils, but is still a good value for a quality Essential Oil. Recommended.
