WHY are you changing what you currently have? •COLOR- Simply looking to change the color of your lights. There are many inexpensive options out there to choose from such as: Halogen- Sylvania; H.I.D.- Kensun, The average lifespan of a halogen bulb is about 600 operating hours. So if you're driving with your lights on about 1 hour a day, you'll have to replace your bulbs in about two years or less. •BLOWN BULBS- your option for this scenario will be diverse based on why they've blown -if you liked what you had just replace it with the same thing •DURABILITY (Longer Lifespan) -An LED Kit will be your only option for this case. Although the lifespan off an LED is a minimum of 30,000 operating hours, there are other things to keep in mind because you are buying an entire kit, which all support the lifespan of the LED itself. If one of the other things in the kit fail, the lifespan of the LED dramatically falls. The ultimate goal is to keep the LED itself as cool as possible. On most kits available today, this is done with a fan. They work great, until they don't. Things that usually cause them to fail are: Moisture; Freezing temperatures; Excessive heat from prolonged and consistent use. •ENERGY EFFICIENCY- A bulb that gives you the brightest even light with the lowest power draw. This usually comes in handy if you have an aftermarket audio system, race car or any other accessories hooked up to your vehicle which draws power from your battery and alternator. CONCERNS: things to consider with any option -Will it "Just Work". • is it CANBUS Ready (No flickering) • is it DRL Compatible (Error free/no check engine light) PRICE- Just remember when you are comparing kits, make sure they are in the same category with all the same features.
