OMG THANK HEAVENS
These are awesome. I live on a main rd -- 6 lanes behind my house. Major firestation 2 blocks down. Lots of street lamps. Near a major hub airport. And really, really mean neighbors. It's a rental, so just honeycomb shades. I didn't initially want the expense and repairs of installing drapes, but I hadn't slept well in a year. Literally. These ROCK. Heavyweight decorative layer is plain polyester taffetta, but very thick. Fabric hangs well. Back layer is thin thermal. Removable Middle layer is thin, dense felt.I got the 95" ones, 4 panels, and hung three from a 120" rod all the way to the ceiling. You will need heavy duty rods attached to studs; I find the 3 layers Very heavy. Used 3 panels to stretch from window to window, including the entire wall in between, behind my headboard. Used the last panel on a single side window.I love these. They're saving me, because sleep deprivation will ruin your life. You can't stay calm without a good night's rest at least several nites a week. It's not soundPROOF, I can hear the sirens more distantly, and the high sharp tones are gone. The rumbler cars my noisy neighbors prefer are almost mute. CANNOT EVEN HEAR THE LOW FLYING PLANES. Neighbors' 3am lights are completely blacked out. While not completely soundproof, I AM NO LONGER AWAKENED BY THESE NOISES ONCE ASLEEP. It's also much easier to fall asleep. No light gets through. Outside noise is much softer.MY life is vastly improved by these. My kids prefer it too. These Curtains are the least expensive of their kind, with sound-absorbing felt. Satisfactory quality. They were more like 94" long.I used super strong mini magnets to lash the side to the edge of the window well. When i have time, I will sew or glue these to the felt. They're a perfect blank canvas, but very plain. You could stitch panels on, do decorative stitching or embroidery.... craftier people will have fun dreaming how to dress them up. I plan to spruce them up with pre-made, decorative sheer overlays, using sheers on the ROOM side of the curtain. As soon as we move.I will buy more of these. My husband called the curtained room "spa-like". 'Nough said.

Great sound and light blocking drape.
Was used in a doorway at a musical performance to block sound and light. It did a great job on both. It is excellent quality and well made. It is a very heavy drape and required a heavy duty tension rod to hold it up. It worked fine but would recommend using a permanent wall mounted rod for long term use.

Great at light blocking, does nothing for traffic or train noise
These were twice the price of other light blocking shades, and I purchased them as they are advertised as being noise reducing. We recently bought a home that we did not realize had a train track only 1/4 mile away. It sounds like the train is running through our back yard. I had hoped that these curtains would dull the noise a little. We can also hear the freeway, so I had hoped that would help. However, we noticed no difference. But, they are already up, they look nice, they block 100% of the light (except for what leaks in above the curtain, and they provide thermal protection against the sun. But don't expect anything for sound blocking. Also, these are super heavy, they need a very sturdy rod. They caused the rod we have to sag pretty badly, and eventually pull out of the wall.

Total Lifesaver!
I live in an apartment with a patio door that is single pane and faces the parking lot, so I get ALOT of noise from cars playing loud bass music, and also from the freeway nearby. The bass would actually make my ears hurt coming through the door. Now, with these curtains, I can still hear the bass, but it is so muffled that I can easily tune it out and no longer have that issue with my ears hurting from the bass. I also can barely hear any noise from the freeway anymore. They are very heavy and well made, but I definitely need to steam out all the wrinkles. These curtains have made it possible to live comfortably in my apartment until I can GTFO.

Very heavy curtains. I had to go with 1" curtain rods.
So I bought the 4 layer and somewhat regret it. Because of the thickness and 4 layers, it is very hard to work with, ironing out the wrinkles and trying to iron in the pleats. The thickness & lack of pre-ironed-pleats make the bottom flare out at the bottom and that looks a bit odd. In hindsight, I wish I had gone with the 3 ply. MFG claims the 4th layer is some sort of anti-dust/smoke layer. The backing is white and not a high density material. Looks like it will attract dirt easily. Would have preferred black or grey for that reason. There were off color streaks in the front of the panel. (Navy Blue). Apparently caused by the dye process. I would have returned them for that reason, except you have to be within a 3-4 feet to notice it.The 4 layer does drastically cut the Houston heat coming through the windows. No light enters thru the curtain material, but some around the outside of the panels. It does a decent job of reducing outside noise that would normally come thru the window. These are NOT high end curtains so I think the pricing was fair.

Works as stated!
I'm very critical of purchases and will return things constantly. These curtains are heavy and do absorb a lot of noise! Just make sure you measure to get the exact size!

Nice
Pretty heavy. Def reduce noise and block light as advertised. Love it! But still think it is overpriced.

Decent product
I live in a rented duplex, so the windows are cheap and I can literally hear the leaves blowing around outside. I’d say that the curtains have blocked out lighter noises like the wind and the leaves, but louder harder noises have been dulled only slightly. I live about a mile from the train tracks and the train horn isn’t much quieter. I will say they are certainly black out, and dull the noises within the room.

Surprisingly awesome
I'm actually very impressed with these curtains! They are weighty and do block out all light. Around the sides there is some ambient light that trickles in, but I think this is because I bought them too big (on purpose to hem them to fit my window) and the excess is gathered on the floor instead of draping nicely.I bought these curtains to deaden the sound of traffic coming through the thin bedroom window, and was pleasantly surprised at just how well they worked. The noise is not silenced, but it is lessened. By a lot.I also find them helpful at keeping the draft out as it gets colder! If you work shift work or need your space darker or sound proofed, these are definitely worth your time!

Excelentes !!!

Not sure they really cancel noise
These curtains look and feel nice however the 'noise cancelling' qualities are questionable. Maybe a 5-10% reduction in noise? They needed a good ironing out when they first arrived to remove creases which was a bit of a pain to do. If I had my time again, I would have bought a good set of blackout curtains instead, as they are cheaper, achieve the same result, easier to iron and weigh less.
