Nice!
When the wife told me her antenna broke off in the car wash, I assumed it was just a broken antenna. Didn't realize until later what had actually happened. A few minutes of research verified that I was not alone. In fact, the broken chevy antenna mount is so common that they have kits to repair it. Good grief. This looked just like the other more expensive versions so I figured why not? Install was easy - only took a few minutes - and the new 4 inch antenna I installed with it seems to work just fine. No complaints from my wife, so Five Stars for the item!

Leave broken rod as long as possible.
Hey all, Product works well, sans not grinding off too much antenna to get a good flat connection. Make sure you do not grind down any more then you have to otherwise the set screw does not have a lot to bite on as it crimps to the stud and not the base.I also tightened the threaded adapter to tight and it pushed off the adapter twice, this is just a function of the design, tighten the new stud to finger tight and then maybe use some locktite on it. They have jamb nuts that come with it that might work if you have sufficient stud left on the original base. if you do not have a lot of original stud then you may not be able to use the jamb nuts to hold the adapter stud in place which is where the locktite came into play.In retrospect I am not sure if the adapter stud needs to hit the original antenna stud so you may not have to hand tighten the adapter stud to contact with the antenna stud.

Works well
Worked ad described. I have had a little static but most of the time it is very clear. A much better fix than trying to replace the entire cable for me.As someone else said, remove plastic or rubber collar on vehicle antenna mount for better reception. It fit well on my Silverado1500 LD.

Great item
Piece of cake to install. Apparently broken OEM antennas are a thing with the Silverado. $17 cable/mount but $200 to install. This took two minutes. The best advice in comments was to dremel old mount remanant for mor contact.

Cowl needs clearanced..
Really crappy fitment, it does what is says.. but it cracked my cowl and doesn't alow the cowl to get a proper seal on my windshield.. not happy with that. Some time with a dremel would have helped but that's not the point

Great idea, but could be better.
The inner diameter of the sleeve is too small for my 2002 GMC Yukon XL antenna base. It fits and the set screw holds the sleeve in place, but I think the lack of metal to metal contact is somewhat taking away from the reception. I could fabricate a metal sleeve that fits well into the repair sleeve and over my antenna base, but not everybody has the ability to do that.
