Grater Plater

I love it! I have seen grater plates like this (but smaller) at our annual NY State Fair. They were selling for twice as much as they didn't work any better. I like the large size and the two items that come along with it. The garlic peeler works amazingly well for something so simple. Just insert a bulb of garlic and roll between your hands or your hand and the counter top and within seconds the garlic bulb is peeled. The little brush which is included is great at sweeping the grated garlic or whatever you are grating into your bowl, pot or whatever. Makes for easy cleanup too. I'm very pleased and will probably be buying more as little gifts.

Paid $25 for one of these at a street fair in Boston, where they demonstrated them. Thought after, what a great hostess gift-went to Amazon. Imagine-$8.99!! Same thing! Even the accessories! Great for garlic, chocolate, ginger and more. Just google it for plenty of other uses. Awesome product. The $25 version included a little stand which is cool.

I bought one from a home and garden show. That thing was AMAZING until it broke. This one is definitely not as good, the garlic is basically juiced rather than grated. If you get a chance to get a genuine one (that says it's from Spain) it worth the extra few bucks.

Great product, grates garlic into puree, easy to use.

When attempting to grate it simply mashes it into a few pieces that are then too small to work with. I also tried some hard cheese and the cheese broke in clumps rather than grating. The only thing in this set that works well is the little silicone roller for peeling garlic.

Vendors were selling these at the Gilroy Garlic festival for $20, so getting it from Amazon was a good deal. The pattern on the plate is not as cute as from the festival, but it works about the same as far as I can tell. I like to use this more than my garlic press now, because the garlic press is hard to clean. However, I have an issue with grating my fingers because I never have garlic cloves as large as they had at the demo at the Garlic festival. You get a couple of scrapes into it and you end up scraping your fingers into the plate. Ouch! One of the things I like about this is that you can use it for ginger too. So overall, I'm happy with it. All three pieces are useful.

The Grater Came broken in the package. It looks just like what I wanted but am unable to use it. Im sure that this would be 5 stars if I had one that was not broke.

This thing is awesome, so convenient. I am buying one for every cook I know for gifts.
