Not JBL...but if you were expecting JBL you should not be looking at this $$
Look, did I give this a perfect score because they are perfect? No, they received a perfect score because I truly believe nothing can beat their value. What do I consider value? What I consider to be value for a PA speaker is a balancing test. On one side of the scale there is build quality, sound, reliability and customer service and on the other side, cost.Build quality is substandard when contrasted to most other manufactures. One of the cabinets was a bit damaged from shipping; however, it was a quick fix. During my quick fix I opened the hood, so to speak, to take a look around. The wood was a light density and there were some minor quality control issues. Could I do better? I think so. However, I could not build a cabinet with carpet, grill, drivers, handles and hardware for anywhere close to what this assembled driver cost me. For the $ I was expecting a lot less. The sound far, far, far exceeded my expectations. I have had most of my experience with JBL's which I believe to be one of the benchmarks labels in sound reinforcement. I only say this to convince you, the reader, that I do know what good sound is. Being said, these were really not too bad. The bass extension was present for a 10". The mids sound like they were coming from a box, sadly. The highs were not nearly as harsh as I anticipated. After some break in they did sound better to boot. They do vocals really well considering the cross-over frequency is somewhere in the middle of the vocal range (I think). Again, for the $...great.Reliability and customer service....well, they included a form you may fill out if you blow a driver and the replacement costs are dirt cheap! Good enough for me!Overall...I have used these for medium sized parties with two of the 18" Pyle subs. I could not be more pleased considering the money I paid. If you are not using any subs...consider a larger driver if you want meaningful bass. Also, some reviews complain of clipping and distortion...this is most likely from under powering the speakers with a cheap amp...these speakers will go pretty clean until you fry a voice coil. Keep in mind, these drivers have a large excursion for a pro driver and a relatively rigid cone...just dont under power them and they will give you great results for the dough.

Tough No Nonsense Speakers at an Amazing Price!
I bought two of these for my home use to drive music while I play guitar. I play through a Bugera v22 amp that is pretty loud. I play them through a Harman Kardon amp that really drives the speaker. I have to say for a fairly cheap speaker, it sounds loud and is very clear. The grill is the real deal - the speakers are very sturdy, have a dent on the grill to show for it. I have also used as a PA for a few Karaoke events at my wife's prior job. I'm updating as one speaker blew. I had the older version of the PADH1070 and I blew the woofer. This new speaker works fine. I use banana connectors and they were real well. You can also use professional speaker cables. These are tough, no nonsense speakers at an amazing price!

Not totally happy with sound
Highs and lows isn't what I thought it be, I think JBL would have be much better although cost more.

I DID A FULL INSPECTION ON THIS!!
ya I was alittle leary to buy this speaker but afther hearing it it sounds pretty good for being on the cheaper side , it has pretty good bass & nice highs , it fulls a room fast & I just have one speaker for now , I was planning on getting sec one if thay worked out , the only thing I found wrong with is that the speaker wire terminals are cheap plasic nut instead metal nut one already got striped out not cool , but the speakons is what im using there soild over all great speaker for $90 :) I DID A FULL INSPECTION ON THIS , I also check that it does have a full crossover Network instead of like the individual pieces like individual resistors it's all on a circuit board NICE , the plastic handles and all the plastic parts are pretty well made , they also did a good job on getting the throat on the super tweeter a place to rest which is just a piece of wood going across the whole box inside , overall it's a really good speaker , I think they should have use better wood quality but other than that it's good the way it is , if your looking to get one of these its good for the price ;)

Good sound for price and size-UPDATE: The speakers suck big time
UPDATE*******Upon my second use of these speakers at rehearsal, they sounded awful. Didn't have the same bass and treble clarity that they had when I first tried them. I am returning them and will be buying something else. Be warned, don't buy these speakers, they don't last very long.First I want to address the dented speaker grill issue mentioned in other reviews. The speaker appears to be packaged well, but what it's lacking are corner pieces in the packaging that are common to other MFG shipping speakers. The corner pieces offset the speaker against the box, creating a space about 1/2" between speaker surfaces and inside of the box and helps to minimize dings and dents, this is not the case here. That said, mine arrived with a slight dent to the grill and if that bothers you greatly for a $64.50 speaker, you can either RMA and hope for the best or you can remove the 4 screws that hold the grill on, pop out the dent, and the dent in the grill is gone......Onto the speaker performance. I am replacing and older 12" speaker wedge on stands with the Pyle 10" speakers and I have noticed some mild distortion at higher volumes as it is a smaller speaker cone, the speaker performed admirably and I will be keeping them as a light weight and cheap replacement, To be fair, I encountered the same distortion on the 12" speakers only a slight louder in volume. For a $130 pair of speakers, they are pretty awesome for a rehearsal space application. If you are wondering what kind of music, my project uses 2 high gain guitar amps and a hard hitting drummer plus bass player on a full stack, so it is a loud band overall and the speakers did a great job cutting through against all of the instruments. If you can live with a near guarantee that the speakers will arrive with a dent in the grill that you can pop out and fix easily, they are a great buy.
