I am in no doubt that I am extremely happy with the turn out
While I do have my own mini business as a college student repairing iPhones, I do not think I would have been able to be as successful in it without this magnetic mat. The main reason I bought this was to keep track to the screws, and to my surprising, it worked very well. I am in no doubt that I am extremely happy with the turn out. Money well invested.

Not All That
I chose this exact screw mat because of the solid reputation of the iCracked associated information and products. I had purchased an iCracked screw mat for the iPhone 4S some time ago, and I found it enormously helpful. It had detailed instructions for a nearly complete disassembly of the phone in a logical order, with a designated spot for each and every screw. If you have never disassembled an iPhone before, you should know that it is filled with lots of tiny screws that measure in the vicinity of 1 mm, more or less. The kicker is that every single screw is different in some way, so it is essential to keep each type of screw organized and separated from the other types. A magnetic screw mat is more or less a necessity.I have tried other screw mats and been dissatisfied for various reasons. Some are not magnetic enough and do not hold screws in place. Most of them are kind of cryptic as far as which screw goes in what spot on the map. I had assumed that this screw mat would follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and provide a map for disassembling the whole phone. Although the magnetic quality of the mat is good, it does not provide complete instructions for phone disassembly. It only gives instructions for removing the LCD assembly and transferring parts such as the home button to a new one. There are no details about removing the logic board, which is one of the things that I do routinely. I ended up purchasing magnetic printer sheets and making my own screw mat. I had to turn the printer sheets over because the paper side was not magnetic enough to retain screws, and the magnetic side of the sheet requires a gold or silver paint pen in order to draw the stages of disassembly and spots for each screw. In summary, it may not be worth the investment of this screw mat if you are an iPhone mechanic. Replacing an LCD assembly on an iPhone 5 is not all that complicated, but if that is all you are interested in doing then this screw mat will help you out. On the other hand, the back side of the mat is highly magnetic and you could draw on it with a paint pen to map out your own personal idea of a screw mat. Be aware, however, that there are two screws on the iPhone 5 that are nonmagnetic. One of them (the top right one on the shield plate covering the LCD related connectors) is removed when you disassemble the LCD. You need to handle it carefully, because it will not stick very well to a screw mat. Also, you do not want the screw to become magnetized by contact with a magnetic screw mat. I ended up cutting open a pill case and sticking part of it to my homemade screw mat to hold the nonmagnetic screws.

Good for keeping track of repair steps and the screws!!
If you're into repairing iPhone 5's then this can be very useful to keep screws in a good order for replacing them after a repair. Personally I prefer a magnetic pad that doesn't have any pictures or words (Just several squares) for making your own notes. It was difficult for me to read the writing while I was repairing the iPhone.

I found this very useful in performing iphone 5 screen replacement
I found this very useful in performing iphone 5 screen replacement. There are many small screws which could easily have been lost or mixed up - this magnetic, tailored storage areas worked very well.

The diagram is for the iPhone 5, not the 5c or 5s specifically but very close so it really still helps out. And the magnetic pad holds the screws very well.

Not practical, too big, and too much going on. Hard to see the screws.
The size is unpractical. Because there is too much going on, as far as instruction you can loose screws. Also, the size takes way too much space. I would consider a smaller and almost blank magnetic pad. If you need instructions, buy separate instructions and a small pad.I ended up cutting small pieces and using them to separate the screws. The product is what is says it is, and works as it say it works. Just that its not practical. I regret buying it.Any questions, hit me up.
