Put on a long movie before you sit down to put this thing together or, better yet, invite several friends over. It’s an involved process to get it all assembled like the picture and there aren’t any shortcuts. It’s not difficult, it’s just really time consuming. It took myself, my teenage daughter. And my husband who helped here and there as he was watching the younger kids nearly three hours to put it together. The entire thing is packed down into a box that fits in the palm of your hand so there’s a lot to open up and try and straighten before you can even begin the assembly. Even the balloons have to be peeled off one another one by one. Some of the time is spent blowing up the balloons so if you have one of those little machines to do that for you it might be quicker. I looked at it and thought it couldn’t possibly take the two of us more than 45 minutes to assemble but but an hour went by and it looked like we had barely done anything then we found a better rhythm and things went together more quickly. Either way it takes forever and you’re left with a big mess of little plastic bits to vacuum up where you were sitting.

I thought this would be a lot of fun to decorate some balloons. Well, it’s decorating WITH balloons not decorating balloons. Get your own pens and stickers to spice up the balloons. Anyway, I tried it out with some nice balloons that I blew up myself, no helium. The balloon glue is USELESS on such things. I imagine if they are filled with helium and just want to rise, rather than fall with their own weight, they might actually stay in place… but scotch tape did a better job for mine.I was going to use the hooks, but I was scared to stick that to my wall. I don’t want to lose paint. (No instructions for those.)The strip of plastic that has all the holes for balloons, that was kind of fun, but also irritating because you end up with pieces of plastic all over your floor (DO NOT use around toddlers). Make sure you tape up or secure the strip before trying to decorate it, or it will get tangled. I put on a few balloons and some tinsel with hearts.That’s another thing. It doesn’t come with string. So get your own. The tinsel kind of works as string, as long as you don’t pull too hard. You can thread it through the hearts and that worked pretty well.The balloon tie tool? What? Easier with fingers. The tool was annoying. And… so unnecessarily complicated? Like someone build this tool for a very specific set of uses, and the people writing the instructions were told none of it and were like “wth” and made something up. (The instructions stink too.)I do really want to get some helium and some string and try out the flower holders. Those look actually useful.

Okay, where was this kit when I hosted a baby shower two years ago?! This is exactly what I needed! I had to improvise with double-side tape and such back then. I host parties sometimes--and they're really nice parties, not to brag, but I'm known for going over the top--and I LOVE how balloon art and arches have become CLASSIER and a fun way to decorate for celebrations.This kit is cheap, and if you plan to do a charming balloon arch at your event, then this is a MUST HAVE. It includes balloon tape strips, two balloon tying tools, "flower clips" for bunching, craft glue dots, and other details which are less important but included for decorating such as some heart confetti and foil fringe strips. You can use those last two items, but don't have to. There are a lot of ways to add little details to the balloon art arch, like flowers or whatever!Balloon arches have gotten classier, as I said, and a kit like this is so nice to have to make decorating an even easier! Definitely recommended to any hostess with the mostest!
