This is a reproduction of a late 19th century individual absinthe sugar serving dish. Sugar holders like this one would have typically been found on a bistro table holding sugar cubes awaiting . Because of the bitterness of absinthe, sugar is diffused by water and then added to an absinthe to help cut this bitterness. * Sugar not included.
