How do you get the water reservoir open?
I bought the steam mouse several years ago. It worked alright but not great. I didn't use it for a while and now I can't open it up to add water. It's like a vaccum has formed. Anyone else have this problem??

steam mouse needs help
i ordered this steam mouse from a tv program (no name needed) it arrived and had trouble with this product approx 6mos after purchase. the steam cap value would not come off to add water. i called the company and they told me that they had problems with that happening since i purchased mine and i could order a new steam value. well, i got the new one and it will not screw down all the way for steam to even come out the handle now. i am ordering another brand this time...one with a on and off switch so i can control the steam this time...this one doesnt let you do it....

Steam Mouse
I bought this because a very good friend of mine who also has disability issues especially with cleaning my apartment on my own. It's hard for me to clean a 1 bedroom apartment since I severely injured my back installing a computer network, have had both hips replaced and am facing another back surgery. This makes cleaning alot easier for me. I can't get on my knees to scrub anything and I have to take breaks about every 15 minutes or so and I think this steamer is a blessing for those of us who have mobility problems.I bought it direct from the company because I couldn't find it anywhere else. My friend bought it after seeing a TV video and it was called the Steam Mouse. So between this thing and my Scuba and Roomba, I can still live independently and not have to pay for a cleaning service.People with disabilies want to live independently and products like this are very helpful.

Love this product
I don't know why this steamer got such a bad review. I can only say the best things about it. If people would read the user manual first they would not complain about certain things, like "there is water shooting out the first 10 seconds" because that is something that you are told. The attachments are very useful. It is not a hassle to use. You still need some arm grease to get rid of heavy dirt - but that is normal. I love the fact that I don't have to use any household chemicals to sanitize my house. It only smells fresh - without chemistry. One tip for other people buying it: Don't keep the part where the steam comes out on a lower or same level as water tank. That could cause water instead of steam coming out of the nozzle. This is just common sense (water always flows to the lowest point - right?).I absolutely love it.

Great for wrinkles in clothes
I have yet to find anything that this will clean better, faster or easier than any liquid cleaner. I have tried on oven grime, barbeque grime and cooked-on cooking residue on cookie sheets. Tried on plastic, ice chest, nope, did not do very well. It did remove wrinkles for clothes, leaving very little residue. Whatever they are cleaning on TV is not the same dirt in the average household.

No too good
This unit is not powerful enough. It many parts that get very hot and can burn you" dangerious". It shoots water out for 10 or 15 second before it starts steaming.

Awesome!
Purchased 20 year old home to renovate and clean for 84 year mom. Grease all over existing modern kitchen was so bad, I thought I would have to rip out the kitchen too. This little machine ate through the grease and deep cleaned everything to like new condition. I did use a slightly abrasive sponge on the areas as I steamed, and then just wiped it dry. It also did a great job on storm window tracks, ceramic tile bathrooms and floors, toilets, faucets, and caulking, and all the other little corners I would have been scrubbing with a tooth brush. I left this one to mom and bought another for myself. Works great on wheels and buggy car grills too - and it is environmentally safe!

This review is for the steam mouse 250 B, this model was given to me by my dad after ten years of use (occasional 4-5x per year). On/off button broke after falling from top shelf approx eight feet high and now needs to be held down I just use a marble and some tape. Squeegee attachment rubber has fused with an extension wand due to be stored in shed in 110+ heat. Machine takes a while to cool down to add new water, have had it spit boiling water at me when refilling even after cool down period. Aside from those few issues machine works and cleans well, have had no leaks other than nozzle spitting a little when first warms up which can be greatly holding wand up. I use regular tap water, but water in my area is fairly clean other than fluoride. Produces a thick steam and will get everything around it wet, which may be a concern if using inside. I am much more satisfied with this than previous cleaners I have had (especially teapot size ones) that die after a few uses, though not as good as professional steam cleaners but I would rather use a little elbow grease than pay an extra thousand dollars.
